Hey everyone, check out this great new cookbook up for grabs to 3 lucky Picky Palate readers by Sara Lee. I have spent the last few days flipping through the book and it is incredible! It’s a beautiful hardcover cookbook, full of great photography and health conscious recipes. Here’s some info on the book:
Sara Lee is partnering with The Heart Truth Campaign to raise awareness of heart disease among women and encourage them to make heart healthy food choices every day to take care of their bodies and their families. One of the best things a mom can do for her family is take care of herself. One of the easiest ways to take care of herself is to establish a heart healthy eating routine.

I love fruit, cool and crisp. Melon with a little salt sprinkled over it to bring out the sugar of the fruit.
Popsicles especially the rocket red, white and blue. I always wanted them growing up but with 7 kiddos in the family it was a luxury.
Avocados sliced with salt on it or cottage cheese is a big fav here.

Raw veggies with fat free dip!
Fruit. My faves are blackberries and strawberries with a dusting of powdered sugar. It makes them so shiny and pretty.
Pita chips and hummus! i am eating some now.

I really love fruit. I love that in every season there in another yummy fruit to eat!
I love fruit! But I really enjoy fruit that I don’t have all the time, like fresh pineapple, kiwi, good oranges, nectarines, etc.
I love to snack on Hummas and Triscuits. Any kind of hummas. I have a few recipes that I haven’t gotten a chance to try yet.
I enjoy Wasa crackers with natural peanut butter. Also fruit like apples and grapes.
Love whole wheat pita triangles with any kind of hummus! Yum! Also can’t resist a really good navel orange. Nothing better!

One of my favorite snacks is peaches and cottage cheese! Yum 🙂 This cookbook looks great..I’m always on the lookout for healthy recipes.
Strawberries. They are my favorite! In the summer, when they are on sale, I buy tons of them. Also, celery/carrots with low-fat ranch.
Our family favorite is homemade granola with fresh fruit!
I love apples with peanut butter, and any veggies with hummus, but I don’t know if that counts as a health food? 🙂

My favorite healthy snack of late is baby carrots with salsa. It’s a great alternative to chips and salsa.

I love the Roasted Garlic Hummus from Trader Joe’s with their plain pita chips! Also, love a Light Laughing Cow cheese wedge for a real quick snack.
I love mangoes, but laughing cow cheese on whole grain crackers is a close second 🙂
Hummus!!! Yummy! I love dipping sweet peas and carrots in it.
I love most anything with hummus…asparagus, green beans, apples, carrots, wheat crackers, pears…mmm! Also, frozen grapes are wonderful!
I like frozen blueberries, string cheese or cucumber slices with Laughing Cow cheese.
When I need something filling, I eat baby carrots. When I looking for something sweet, I have an orange. I’ve been eating a lot of fruits now that spring is coming around!
Cucumber spears sprinkled with Spike, smoothies made with light soy milk,frozen berries and raspberry yogurt, peanut butter whipped up with some water makes a great dip /spread for carrots, apples etc.
