Hey everyone, check out this great new cookbook up for grabs to 3 lucky Picky Palate readers by Sara Lee. I have spent the last few days flipping through the book and it is incredible! It’s a beautiful hardcover cookbook, full of great photography and health conscious recipes. Here’s some info on the book:
Sara Lee is partnering with The Heart Truth Campaign to raise awareness of heart disease among women and encourage them to make heart healthy food choices every day to take care of their bodies and their families. One of the best things a mom can do for her family is take care of herself. One of the easiest ways to take care of herself is to establish a heart healthy eating routine.

Hummus & carrots!
Oh, so many choices… but my favorite veggie is broccoli. Fruits are a toss up — plums, nectarines, or fresh pineapple (although it eats my tongue if I eat too much!)
I love eating grape tomatoes and some low fat cottage cheese. I don’t know why but that combinations is just good!
I LOVE citrus foods, especially a good, sweet grapefruit. I love the taste, but it also reminds me of my Grandpa. 🙂

I love apples and peanut butter toast… not together, but I love them just the same!
We love to eat popcorn… healthy, lite, air-popped popcorn. It is our favorite, favorite snack!! It’s quick, easy, and yummy!
I just love cucumbers. They are so refreshing! I love to eat them plain or in salad or with ranch dip. I also love them in “spa water” (water, cucumber slices, lemon slices= heaven!).
I am simple…apple slices with peanut butter! Yum!
My favorite healthy snack is cucumber slices dipped into homemade hummus or red-pepper hummus, yum. I could eat this everyday!

I love fresh fruit – strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, etc. I am so excited that so many fruits are coming in to season!
Crazy as it is…I love Almond Butter! Great, healthy fats that keep me full!
I LOVE fresh pineapple or a crisp Granny Smith apple with a little peanut butter.
Raw almonds – I throw a few roasted ones in mix things up a litte.
Watermelon is my favorite fruit and could eat it until the cows came home. Oh wait, cows? I’ll have to say that cheese ranks up there too. Depends on my mood.
I LOVE apples and celery with peanut butter and cheddar cheese! mmmm I am going to eat some now!
I LOVE hummus with multi-grain tortilla chips. And, I’m always up for a great piece of fruit–peaches are my favorite. Good thing summer’s coming!
Strawberries and Pineapple, can’t beat them with some yummy yogurt fruit dip.
Mmmm. . . My favorite healthy snack would have to be a fresh fruit smoothie. I love to be able to drink. My kids love veggies in ranch and because their small we have to make the ranch as fattening as possible. I usually just go for the veggies!

A handful of dry-roasted almonds if I want crunchy; some frozen grapes if I’m in the mood for sweet!

So many to choose from but I would say laughing cow wedges with triscuts or hummus with veggies
I love getting recipes off your blog. I am constantly looking for healthy recipes for my family. I love to snack on dried Apricots, they are better than candy!
