Happy Friday everyone! I have got a great new product to share with you and a chance at winning some of their products. Here’s how I found them….

I was at my favorite Whole Foods Market at the District a few weeks ago and ran into a colorful little display of Revolution Food products. I was quickly drawn to them because I’m always looking for something healthy to add to my boys lunch boxes. The more I read about the products the more I LOVED! So, I picked up the Squeezable Fruit Mashups which is a brilliant idea of pureed fruit the kids can squeeze right out of the little package. My boys absolutely loved these. They call them their fruit smoothies. You can also freeze them for a fun treat and it even keeps the lunch box cold.

Here are more of their great products, I am so excited to try them all. Here’s what they have to say about their products:
“Our organic lunchbox snacks and sandwich builders make it easy to nourish your kids with yummy balanced nutrition. We like to think of it as Lunchbox Simplicity. Simple for parents to pack, simple for kids to eat and a simple way to maintain a healthy diet at school or at home.”

One Picky Palate Reader will win a box of Organic Squeezable Fruit Mashups, a box of Organic Jammy Sammy’s (pictured below) and a Revolution Foods T-shirt.

A few things I remember: macaroni and cheese (the popular lunch choice in 6th grade), hot dogs, bagel bites.
i rarely got a packed lunch but when i did my favorite was little debbie cupcakes!
My mom always packed me a sandwich, fruit, and dessert (usually cookies). And a thermos of milk – which was great until high school when I started leaving it at home because it was “geeky”!
I’m a follower of your delicious blog! I LOVED when my mom would pack squeeze-its in my lunch box (but that rarely ever happened) along with any sort of sweet treat (again, rarely happened) so that when it did it was like Christmas in the cafeteria!
Dad used to pack my lunch, always sandwich chips and an apple. Sandwiches were usually PBJ, every so often it was peanut butter marshmallow fluff. Gotta love the fluff!
I remember a lot of PB&J – the funny memory I have was when it was no longer “cool” to take a lunch pail and I had to switch to brown paper sacks. lol
Bologna, cheese and mustard. I loved it “warm” after sitting in my lunch box all morning and all squished together. Yum.
My Mom worked a lot while I was growing up, so most of the time I had the school hot lunch. But I do remember her packing me a lunch from time to time and what I remember most about that is when I’d get a mini bag of chips or some kind of “special” snack food.
My mom would core an apple and fill it with peanut butter, walnuts and raisins. So so tasty.
I remember my mom sticking me little notes in my lunch. I loved it. I now stick random notes in my son’s lunchbox and he loves it, too. I see him saving them in his treasure box he keeps under his bed.
ALWAYS a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on homemade wheat bread, a piece of fruit (whatever was on sale!), and occasionally a homemade cookie. Never sure if it was a budget issue or a “earth mother” issue, but we were never allowed to have any convenience or junk food. LOL!
I usually had the school lunch, but whenever my mom did buy lunch snacks we always ate them before we could even pack them in our lunch…..hmmmmm….maybe that is way we had school lunches.
I was a very picky eater. It was always a baloney sandwich and some kind of sweet snack. But I loved to have a Twinkie in my lunch. Those were my fave!
My lunchtime staple was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. But I really loved it when my mom would pack a Hostess cupcake in my lunchbox. Those were the best!
When my mom was able to pack me lunch she would pack my favorite sandwiches and her special chocolate chip cookies. nothing super special but fun for me.
you bet ya, I’m a follower!
First of all, of COURSE I’m following you’re blog (you’re on of my favorites shhhh don’t tell the others!) and second… my favorite item my mom packed me was individual pudding cups!! And then she would right a cute little note of them in sharpie! It was my favorite!
My lunches always had fruit snacks. Not these new-fangled ones that are in shapes, but the old school bean shaped ones…mmmmm!
Oh ya! those bean shaped fruit snacks were the BEST! Why don’t they make those anymore?!!
I thought I was so special cause my mom made my lunch everyday. School lunch tasted like cardboard! I also remember my mom sending me cute little notes. She always had a way of making me feel so special.
My mom always packed Hi-C jusice boxes. On valentines day she always packed a heart shaped peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich, heart shaped jello jigglers and of course, a valentine.
I’m all over anything organic and healthy, and still yummy and FUN for the kids, so this one is great for me!
I was a super picky eater when I was little, so my two favorite things to eat in my packed lunch were brie cheese and Carr’s water crackers or chips and salsa. Not your average lunchbox items, I know, but I loved them
Most of the time I ate school lunches… My mom didn’t really have the energy to prepare school lunches (I had 3 siblings with severe disabilities).
Marshmallows and chocolate chips (or chunks of a big chocolate bar). We all loved it and seriously, I still enjoy it these days with my 3 year old
I love all your recipes!! I always had plain lunches. Just a sandwich (usually jam) and either an apple or carrots. I always wanted a cool lunch like some of my friends had. Oh well I survived. I think these products are cool and would make lunch fun! Wish they were around when I needed them.
The best was Spaghetti-Os in my little blue thermos!!
my mom use to pack us tomato sandwiches. They are gross. All it is is tomatoes on bread with Mayo. Considering the fact that I HATE Mayo and dislike soggy bread, they were disgusting. Maybe she did this cuz we have such a huge family (17 kids), but seriously? pp&j can’t be that much more expensive
Fun Fun memories!
I remember my mom putting special notes in my lunchbox–to eat oh I can’t remember…I really liked pudding.
I never really brought a lunch, I always had school lunchs (blech!) but when my mom would pack my lunches I would always get Gushers! I LOVED those babies! I still get them every once in a while just as a pick me up!
I remember squished PB&J, NOT a favorite of mine! I think I actually liked school hot lunch better.
Animal crackers, sandwiches, apples, those cracker sandwiches, anything easy to make and grab.
Worst was without a doubt those bologna sandwiches that were always too warm and mushy by lunchtime. Best is a toss up between PB&J or the Hostess fruit pies that showed up once in a blue moon. Loved those! = )
My dad actually started packing lunches for my mom, sister and I to take to school (mom was a teacher) when I was in 5th grade. It would always involve a sandwich, chips, fruit of some kind, and maybe cookies. Once we started getting involved in after school sports, there was ususally some popcorn, granola bars, etc. to be used as our snack between school and practice. On game days, he sometimes even packed a cooler with extra goodies for the post-game ride home. He’s a pretty awesome dad!!
My Mom used to pack pretzel sticks with ranch dressing. I loved it and so did all my friends!
Thanks Mom!
Lisa
My mom always packed a sandwich, an apple and a pack of gushers! the gushers were my favorite!
I’m a blog follower and now a foodie friend. My favorite lunch box item…Do you remember the kids lunch boxes with the thermos that came inside the box? I always had one and loved it…especially when it was cold enough for my mom to start filling the thermos with warm spaghetti-o’s. Yummo.
My mom would do pretty much the same thing everyday. PB&J, an Orange, Applesauce, and a Little Debbie dessert. I would beg for chocolate milk in my thermos which I had to remember to shake up really good before drinking because the chocolate always settled at the bottom.
Mom always packed simple yet very healthy lunches…usually including fruits and veggies with dips, a sandwich, and a yogurt for dessert. Pretty simple.
FAVORITE MEMORY: Mom was out of town a few days and put dad in charge of lunch duty. Big surprise when I opened my lunch pail to find a can of Campbell’s tomato soup with a can opener on the side!!! Boy, was I hungry when I got home!
a turkey sandwich!
I always got PB&J too. I loved it and still do!
I remembered my mom packing the little debbie snacks, like the brownies & cookies. I also loved getting ding dongs, little treats for lunch made you feel cool!
My mom made the same lunch everyday. Peanut-butter sandwich, apple, chocolate chip cookies and milk. And on special occasions she would include a card.
I used to hate it when my mom would pack cupcakes with frosting in sandwich bags. When you take the cupcake out the frosting is left in the baggie.
My sister or dad would pack my lunches for me and it was always PB&J with some chips and snacks… the typical lunch
Gotta love those peanut butter and blackberry jam sandwiches. Yum, love them to this day.
The Best: The day after my mom would make a roast beef dinner with homemade knot rolls, she would make little sandwiches with the left over meat and rolls. I would ask her to pack extra sandwiches so I could barter with them:)
My mom used to pack a whole tomato to eat like an apple. I loved it!
I remember always having a peanut butter and jam sandwich, chips or pretzels and some kind of treat and a piece of fruit!
I finally became a foodie friend! I used to LOVE it when my mom would put a single hershey kiss in my lunchbox. I DID NOT love it so much when she would put the leftovers that I didn’t finish the night before in my lunchbox.
My mom used to pack me mostly homemade things. Partly because that’s what she did (I come by 0my love of baking honestly), but also because we didn’t have a lot of money.
My favorites things were brownies, lemon squares and pound cake. But I also loved her sandwiches. Really though, it’s a bit embarrassing when your mom packs extra sandwiches because your friends like her egg salad, too!
