5 more days until Easter!! You ready? I made a mad dash to Target yesterday and picked up my last minute basket goodies. Apparently so was the rest of Orange County, that place is crazy!
These colorful Easter Oreos are a must for your Easter table if you ask me!! When I was thinking of this idea, I knew they would be cute, but I love them even more than I thought I would.
I wanted to post another quick and easy Easter recipe and I think I’ve done it, I’m talking 10 minutes! Get the kids in the kitchen to help you, they will love to help dip and sprinkle these Easter Oreos!
Take a peek below and see how simple these are to put together. Oh, and wrap them up in a little bag with a bow and they make the perfect teacher gifts!!

Grab yourself a bag of Wilton’s Candy melts, some Oreos, food coloring or paste and you are good to go!!
Dip, sprinkle and let dry 🙂
White Fudge Dipped Easter Oreos
Bag of Oreo Cookies
Bag of Wilton White Candy Melts (I found mine at Michaels)
Food Decorating Paste or Food Coloring (red, yellow, blue and green)
White nonpareils Sprinkles
1. Take half of the Oreos out of the package and set on plate so they are ready to go. Melt candy according to package directions until smooth. Divide white chocolate into 4 separate bowls then add paste or food coloring until desired color is reached. Start with just a tiny drop so you get pastels 🙂 Stir then dip tops of oreos in chocolate. Use spoon to spread evenly. Sprinkle with sprinkles then place onto foil, parchment or wax paper to dry. Continue dipping until Oreos and chocolate is used up. Serve room temperature or chilled, Enjoy!!

I never broke the news to my kids. They were smart and savvy and figured it out pretty young, but always played along *wink,wink*… in fact, my daughter (age 32) still asks me if the Easter Bunny will be bringing a basket this year! She says *he* gives the neatest baskets, ever.
What a geniusly (totally made that word up, didn’t I?!?) simple idea! These are absolutely adorable and I LOVE how easy the idea is!
Going to try these with some other Mommies tomorrow for our playdate…they look yummy and SUPER festive!

I may be the wrong person to give you advice re the Mr Easter Bunny issue but here goes…I have been hosting a rather large Easter Egg Hunt for the past 19 years. The Easter Bunny hides decorated hard boiled eggs in our large yard (last year he hid 32 dozen!). We have about 80-90 family and friends and we all put together a pot luck brunch. It is an incredibly fun day. Around 30 hunters and another 24 assistant hunters. A golden egg is hidden (it weighs alot) a whoever finds it gives it to be in exchange for an extra treat from the Easter Bunny. So this year my husband and I were discussing if maybe we should stop the magical madness. Very shortly after I received emails from my “adult” nieces declaring how excited they were to be getting ready for the Easter Bunny to arrive at our house and they will be here no matter what!! Really…how old is too old?? I do know that it is a magical day that draws all of our family, friends, neighbours together and that’s a great place to be!!
That’s AWESOME! It’s about tradition! I say…..have it as long as you can get everyone together! 🙂

Hi Jenny–I was just wondering if you had any trouble with the chocolate seizing up once you added the coloring? I haven’t tried the Wilton candy melts with coloring, but when I use regular “almond bark” candy coating, it seizes up and I have to add a little oil to get it liquid again, but then it doesn’t set as well (stays softer).

I’ve had a few others with the same question. I didn’t have any trouble with the candy seizing, but I bet if you added a touch of veg oil, it would smooth it out. Hope this helps. The wilton candy melts were perfect.

Ok Jenny so I found out just after I was 8 when my 10 yr old sister told me. I was so mad I said to my mom, “You lied to me?” ha ha and then on I got/had to help. Good luck with that ha ha does he hint? I can’t believe M is almost 8!

Mmm, the Oreos look great. Love that they are only half dipped instead of completely dunked. Less mess.
I was just at the store with my 8 yo and we went down the Easter aisle and he saw the bags of plastic eggs, held one up and said, “See, Mom, I told you you were the Easter Bunny.” I just said, “What do those have to do with me being the EAster bunny? Then he pointed to all the candy and said, “This is all the same candy we get in our Easter eggs. So that proves it’s you.” I kind of skirted around the issue and he just kept saying, “You’re the Easter bunny.” I told him if he thinks that that the Easter bunny wouldn’t come to our house.
My issue is 11 yo, 8 yo aren’t so much “believing” anymore, but I don’t want them to spoil it for the 6 yo and 3 yo. And if anyone will spoil it, it would be my 8 yo.
At the same time, we don’t play up Easter with the whole bunny thing, since that’s not really what it’s about.

Such beautiful cookies! They are almost too pretty to eat 🙂 I was in the 2nd grade (I guess 8 years old) when the light bulb went off that Santa/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy didn’t exist. I have a little sister, she was 3 at the time, so I had to keep the story going for a while. I do remember telling my best friend that Santa wasn’t real because I didn’t want the other kids to make fun of her for still believing.
I have wondered the same thing. My 11 year old flat out asked when she was 8 and so I told her. My 9 year old is SO naive and I have been feeling a little funny that she still believes so much in Santa and the Easter Bunny. I just don’t want her to be in Jr. High and have kids tease her. So I took her into my room and showed her the bags of candy I bought for Easter. I didn’t say anything, and she just looked confused. She asked what all of that candy was for and I just told her that it was the Easter candy I bought. She kind of had this crushed look on her face and I started feeling bad that I was breaking it to her so I said “You know that mom and dad buy the candy for the Easter Bunny to bring…right?” At that point I thought I’d let her decide what she wanted to believe. She got this look of relief on her face and said “OH…I thought you were trying to tell me that you and dad WERE the Easter Bunny!!” Then she said that a lot of the kids in school don’t believe anymore. I asked her “What do YOU believe?” And she said that she totally believes in Santa and the Easter Bunny still. I didn’t have the heart to tell her anymore so I just said “Okay!” I guess we’ll try again next year! LOL 🙂
I think I was about 8…. I skipped a grade though so was in school with people a year older than me. Either way, I’d guess you don’t have long – I’d say 8-10 is typical. I was pretty sure I didn’t believe, but still wanted to. So I asked my grandmother “Is there really such a thing as Santa Claus?” and my grandmother replied “Would you be disappointed if there wasn’t?”…. I was young but I wasn’t so young that it wasn’t obvious what that meant! LOL
These are gorgeous, Jenny! I have the Wilton gel colors, and when I try to add them to the Wilton candy melts, it makes the melts curdle up…has this happened to you? Any suggestions? I guess I could just buy the colored candy melts next time…Happy Easter!

I didn’t have any problem with the candy curdling up. I know they said you could add a touch of veg oil if needed to smooth things out.

I personally never “fool” my kids with the myths of Santa or the Easter Bunny but I do remember when my sons teacher told them about the “desk fairy” coming to see if their desks were clean and he was crushed when his sister told him that it was really his teacher and not the “desk fairy”. It was pretty funny.

Love the oreos! we always make rocky road at easter and christmas! Our church had a fete on saturday which was really good we managed to raise over $2000 for charity! I live in australia btw so while u guys r gearing up for spring we are gearing up for winter!
I guess me and my sisters (I am 18) never really belived in the easter bunny to us it was more about what it meant about jesus dying for our sins. But if you want to make him stop beliving in the easter bunny just happen to leave a letter from the easter bunny and a letter with your writing on it and let him compare! Just let him work him out for himself! HAPPY EASTER!

That is too funny that you ask this question…Just today as my 10 year old and I are going down the store aisle she says…” can we get that basket with the ball in it.. it is really cute” I quickly replied “no… maybe the easter bunny will being it to you”.. she quick wittedly says” Oh, so the easter bunny (in finger quotes) shops at walmart now? Just like Santa shopd at Target and seaworld?” I look at her in disbelief… really? Is she really telling me she doesn’t believe. SO we ponder around this conversation a while longer and I say, so when did you catch on? She said last year. But really in 3rd grade I started questioning it. So the first of my 4 children. Kind of a relief, but at the same time a little saddened. SO I have recruited her to help when everyone is asleep… I said okay then you get to be the helper now and see how the magiv happens, haha. Let them , let you know so they aren’t damaged for life, haha.
