I’ve been looking for a good skillet like this for more than a year. I love RR, but I was so saddened to see that she still uses a Teflon-based non-stick interior. Hard anodized pans are supposed to be self-non-stick. WHY did they add such a harmful chemical like PFOA to this? Do you realize how long the chemical lingers in the air during AND after the cooking process?

(Wiki:PFOA is indefinitely persistent in the environment. It is a toxicant and carcinogen in animals. In people, it is detected in the blood of general populations in the low parts per billion range where single studies have associated it with infertility, higher cholesterol, and thyroid disease. In highly exposed groups, some studies have associated PFOA exposure with birth defects, increased cancer rates, and changes to lipid levels, the immune system and liver—effects identified in animals. PFOA has been detected in industrial waste, stain resistant carpets, carpet cleaning liquids, house dust, microwave popcorn bags, water, food, and PTFE.)

Thankfully, the Environmental Protection Agency has demanded a cease of all Teflon-base uses by the year 2015. It can’t come soon enough Guess I’ll stick w cast-iron for now…. Beautiful pan though. It was one of the first I looked at.

I have the oval spaghetti pot and I LOVE it! I think that making a pot that shape was Rachael Ray’s best idea yet! I also love that the handles don’t get hot! Makes life so much easier!

I have a few RR products and they are great! Plus I love orange I most definitely have a favorite pan that gets washed at least once a day. I could probably use a new one, will check out CSN Stores!
