Hi everyone! I am in the VERY beginning stages of working with a wonderful cookbook agent to start the Picky Palate Cookbook process and I’d love some feedback from you guys! (did I mention I am so excited about this?!)

Since you guys are so important to Picky Palate, I would LOVE to know what you would like to see in my future cookbook!

Please leave a comment and tell me which of the following would be most appealing to you for the Picky Palate Cookbook:

1. Dessert recipes only

2. Quick and easy dinner recipes only

3. Desserts, simple dinners, sides and appetizer recipes

4. other ideas/feedback?

THANK YOU so much in advance for your feedback. I am really excited about starting this cookbook journey!

Oh and as a thank you for helping me, I will be giving away 4 beautiful Better Homes and Garden Cookbooks to 4 Picky Palate readers. I’ll have random.org select 4 of you that are kind enough to leave a comment and you’ll receive this beautiful cookbook wrapped with a wooden spoon! Makes a great gift 🙂

The giveaway portion of this post will end Friday November 5th.

Thanks again, looking forward to your feedback!

I love your dessert recipes those would be awesome to have in a book but I would also like to see simple dinner recipes. Im not much on the rest. Can’t wait for the cook book

  2. Jen

I vote for #3! I love all of your recipes. Make sure you include your mini pumpkin cheesecakes— huge hit at every party I’ve made them & taken them too! 🙂

  3. Barbara Bakes

Congrats! It will be a beautiful cookbook no matter which you choose. I am drawn to a cookbook because of the desserts, but really I need help with deciding what to make for dinner every night. So I would pick option 3. I prefer a cookbook divided into categories and not arrange by meals.

#3, but definitely include relationships. (i.e. tell me what you serve each with–tie the recipes together) Can’t wait!!!

your desserts are so cute, easy, and creative–i would say just desserts. However, maybe put them into sections such as the 3 or 5 ingredient, holiday themes, and (drum roll) a healthy dessert section!
    thanks for all the recipes!!:)

I would love to see #2, #3, and how about a crockpot cookbook? I love using my crockpot because of my crazy schedule. Thank You for this site. It has been a staple for months now (since I found it)

  7. Angie B.

I would love number 3! I’m a huge fan of your dessert recipes but now that my child is older (and busier) quick, easy dinners are a must!

  8. Kathy E.

I love desserts and could probably make a meal out of them, but then I couldn’t make it through doorways very easily. My problem is coming up with quick and easy dinners that taste wonderful on a daily basis, so I choose #2.

  9. Tatiana

I would love 2 and 3. It’s a good open range for different people. You can’t have a cookbook without your desserts in it. They are so yummy.

  10. Kari

I agree with the ladies that said #3- I want the best of all the worlds. I also agree with those who said to be sure to include lots of pictures. A cookbook without pictures is like cake without frosting!

Bongrats on the cookbook,, how exciting!!! I would like to see Desserts, simple dinners, sides and appetizer recipes. Cant wait till the release!

  12. Nourhan Khafagi

I think I’d like to see choice #3! I adore desserts but would like to try some fab dinner ideas 🙂

  13. Julie

I’m with Amanda, I think 1, 2 and 3 would all be great BUT if I had to choose, 3 would be my first choice. Just make sure it is as beautiful as your website!

  14. Erica W

I love books with simple recipes, so I’m tempted to say 2, but I also love appetizers and dessert so I’m going to say choice 3 (or multiple books!).

    How exciting, Jenny!!!

I pick option 3, as it is broad enough – but I would LOVE to see some recipes (in the cookbook or here on the blog) about how to turn kid standards (like frozen chicken nuggets or something) into more fancy fair for the whole family (such as… buffalo chicken nugget tortilla wraps)? I get so bored of just microwaving the frozen stuff and presenting it as-is.

YAY! You have so many great recipes, it’s hard to choose just one category. Being a college student on-the-go, a cookbook of quick and easy dinners would definitely be the most useful!

Definitely #1. Your desserts always look so good! I’m more apt to grab a cookbook for a dessert recipe because if I’m rushing to put a meal together I don’t want to be referring to a cookbook.

You could do a lot with just desserts and break them down into difficulty, occasion, or even how much you can get little ones involved in the process.

  18. maggy@threemanycooks

MEGA YAY! That is so exciting. I think you should do all desserts – it’s what you do best. You are so creative, I think you should showcase all the brilliant recipes and ideas you’ve come up with over the years! And for all the seasons. Congrats, Jenny. Soooo happy for you 😀 I am going to buy a dozen copies when it comes out!

I love cookbooks with a little bit of everything like number 3 since I am a newbie at cooking. I also was just marveling to myself at your creativity of desserts like the one you posted yesterday!

#3 for me please. I am a cookbook reader. Yes, I said reader. I’m not much of a cook (my hubby is thank goodness) but I buy cookbooks and read them. I LOVE reading them. The one I always end up buying is the one that has #1. lots of pictures (pictures are a very important part) and #2. a variety of recipe categories that look easy to make. (not sure why I need easy when I’m not the one that cooks them.) Okay, I know. I’m weird. lol
