Crisco is inviting home cooks to submit their favorite recipes at GetInspired.com in the Crisco Mediterranean Inspirations Recipe and Essay Contest for the chance to win a trip for two to Italy.  Recipes should include one of the three Crisco Olive Oil varieties:  Crisco 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Crisco Pure Olive Oil or Crisco Light Olive oil plus two ingredients commonly used in Mediterranean-style cooking, including tomatoes, garlic, pasta, yogurt, legumes, fresh herbs, lentils or cheese.

   My favorite Italian style meal starts with a nice mixed green salad, then follows with fried calamari, with an entree of shrimp scampi (extra garlic, please), and finishes with a mascarpone cannoli and some espresso. Mmm, now I am hungry.

    My favorite italian meal is pretty simple, pasta (any will do really), diced tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella, if available, top with sauteed shrimp!

    Love anything with seafood, especially shrimp, love a simple butter or alfredo sauce with sauteed shrimp, and angel hair or fettucine.
