Hi … the cookies are delicious but they don’t look like your photos. They are very flat with choc chip bumps … more like wafers.

Any suggestions .. I definitely want to make these again.

    Thanks.
    Ann

I never leave replies but I just made these and it’s almost all gone already. Perfection! Thanks for sharing

I baked at 365 degrees for 11 minutes at higher altitude.
I also used peppermint Oreos for a holiday twist!
I love this recipe! Best cookies I have ever baked!

I just made these today. They came out fantastic. I obviously have had this recipe in the waiting for a while. I am so glad I finally got around to making them. I never buy Oreos, but on a recent trip to the grocery store I saw the Oreos and thought, “I know I have recipes that use those.” So I got the extra large size. Yours was the first recipe I made. In my freezer though I have enough Oreos to make something else. Thank you for the inspiration and all the chocolaty goodness we have enjoyed tonight.

Oh my God!!! I just made these, and they are amazing!! Soooo chocolatey and creamy and delicious! Thank you for sharing the recipe! I know I’m a little late to this particular party, but better late than never!! Yummmmmmm!

This recipe looks awesome! I’m going to try it at work tomorrow. BTW, you didn’t include the oreo crumbs in the actual directions. I went through the pictures, so I knew when to add them, but I almost left them out while writing!

These are great! However, I noticed that the recipe directions don’t list when to add the crushed oreos! I just threw them in at the end, noticing that they were left over.

  9. Sarah

I’m going to use this recipe for whenever my grade makes cookies, which will be next week. I’m thinking everyone might like these cookies. 🙂
At least there is 3 dozen they can make.. We might need that much for selling the cookies.

  10. Francesca

Thank you for sharing your lvoely recipe Jenny. I made these cookies this morning for my friends at work; they are all eating cookies for breakfast! A huge hit. Thank you.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I have a horrible question. Would stale Oreos be okay? They taste fine, but cookie is soft. I hate to throw them all away (two packages)…I can’t even imagine how it happened!

  12. Sharyl

THESE ARE AMAZING. Very rich. Definitely a good milk-dipping cookie. Selling them at the school bake sale tomorrow for $1.00/cookie. YUMMMMMMM

  13. Mar

I just came back to double check the recipe because I plan to make these in the next few days and noticed that the recipe doesn’t mention when to add the oreo cookies. So I looked at the pics and figured it out from there. Thanks for this and all your recipes!!

  14. Leslie

I made these cookies this weekend and they are delicious!!! Thanks for the great recipe. I think you forgot to put “add the oreo crumbs” to the instructions at the end of your post! Thanks again . . . for this must try over and over again recipe.

  15. Barbara

These are my new favorite cookie. Not your typical chocolate chocolate chip cookie….love the extra fudgy flavor and texture!

  16. Mary

Made these last night with my friend and they were awesome! Hit the spot on my craving of chocolate! thanx! xoxoxo

  17. Jennette

We just made these today and they are awesome! Simple and quick recipe with great results! Thanks 🙂

  18. Renee

Okay, I am sure this is a silly question but when you say “whole” oreo’s you mean the white stuff too? Your pic, doesn’t look like there’s any white stuff (involved).
    Thanks!
Wanting to make these this weekend…

  19. Kristen

GREAT cookies! I pushed these right over the edge into a shameful abyss by adding M&Ms to the batter! Oh my!

  20. Stef

You had me sold at ‘Oreo’! Cheers to you all the way from Singapore, these were a huge hit tonight and my brothers couldn’t stop raving about how similar they tasted to their fav Nabisco snack, milk dunking commenced from the moment the first tray was out!
    nice one, keep blogging!

  21. jackie

These are the best chocolate cookies ever, like a cross between a brownie and chewie on the inside perfect on the outside cookie. My husband was sold from the moment he licked the batter and has had 8 cookies since! THanks so much for the awesome recipe!

  22. mindy

I was looking forward to tasting these since the cookie dough was awesome! There was something ‘off’ about the cookies. The flavor was great, so it took me a little while to figure out that the cookies were gritty, due to the ground Oreos. A little better the second day, but I think I would rather eat regular chocolate-chocolate chip cookies. What a creative way to use those Oreos!

  23. Julia

WOW – these look amazing! I’m kicking myself for not seeing this recipe earlier – I JUST took some cookies out of the oven! Maybe next week…

  24. Sarah

I made these on Sunday (followed recipe exactly). Yummy! They were a bit too-chocolatey for me (I couldn’t eat more than one at a time, but maybe this is a good thing), but I brought a bunch into work and they were a huge hit. Thanks for the great recipe!

  25. British Mum

These really look amazing. I’m going to have to make them for my kids, they would be a HUGE hit.

Made a second batch of these today. Still amazing and so easy to make! In response Amanda’s question about a dry dough…it possibly depends where you live on how dry the mix will be. When I lived on the coasts or humid areas my flour and cocoa picked up more moisture from the air and my cookie doughs were not as dry. I now live in Salt Lake City (4500 ft.) and it is a desert here…very dry air, flour, cocoa, etc. In today’s batch I added 3TBL cream to the wet ingredients. My cookies were sooo much happier and spread just lovely in the oven. Still gave them a small pat to flatten prior to baking. Once the cookies were mixed I divided the batter in two…baked half just like the recipe calls for. In the second half I added the zest of 1 orange and 1/4 cup candied ginger. Delish as well!

I made these yesterday for our family’s Good Friday gather, they are so yummy:) A huge hit with all the kids! Thank you so much, I am definitely making these again:)

  28. Abby

I just finished making these and I have never put something more amazing in my life! Excellent recipe! Thank you!

  29. Nicole

I thought these were better the second day 🙂 They seemed to mellow a bit after the first day, I used Ghiradelli cocoa. I was thinking Hershey’s cocoa might have been less intense. Great recipe ! beautiful food styling in the photos too.
