Easy Spaghetti Recipe

We all have a favorite spaghetti recipe, but let me introduce you to my Creamy Crockpot Spaghetti!  Making crock pot recipes is such a great way to make dinner time easy.  We’re all looking for that! No boiling the noodles, just throw it all into the crock pot and dinner is done a few hours later. I added a little secret ingredient to my spaghetti….some cream cheese that makes for a creamy dreamy sauce. Be sure to try it 🙂

Just found this via pinterest & wanted to let you know I used the Morning Star crumbles frozen since I don’t eat meat, and served to others who do. It was so delicious, no one knew the difference until I told them! Just thought I’d share since it could be a time saving tip for those who don’t want to brown the meat – I just added some garlic & pepper on top before the cheese. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

I am going to try this for supper tonight, I haven’t heard of cooking spaghetti in the slow cooker until now. Also, this is going to be the first using my crock-pot so I am pretty excited that it will be spaghetti seeing as it’s my favorite meal 🙂

The creamy crockpot speghetti is so easy!!! Thanks so much will be using many more recepies on here!!!

  4. Day

This looks delish! We are hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser soon, and I was thinking this might be a good recipe to use. Do you think it would be possible to double the recipe? If so, what kind of adjustments would need to be made?

    Thanks so much!

  5. Mary

I am making this now but i am using my own tomatoes and using frozen chicken strips of breast meat instead of beef.

  6. skittles

I want to try this!! I didn’t have time to use the crockpot for dinner tonight by the time I read this so I just boiled a whole box of spaghetti noodles in 2 jars of sauce with a little water and it turned out GREAT! No draining required and the noodles soaked up so much of the flavor. Amazing! Can’t wait to try your version with the cream cheese to make it even better!

  7. Katie

Has anyone used a little more spaghetti so there are a few more servings? I am making this for a party with 12 people and want to be sure there is enough for everyone!! Thanks!

  8. Heather

I tried this and it turned out great! Next time I make it, I’ll be making a couple of tweaks. I wasn’t able to find 26 oz jars, so I’m going to make up the difference with water, because it really could have used the extra moisture. I am also going to go with linguine because I think my crock-pot runs hot, and although the spaghetti was perfect, it would not have taken much more time to be over-cooked (at 6500 feet). I will be making it at sea-level next and need the time to be a bit more forgiving. I think that the extra water, and the switch to linguine might be just right.

followed to the T, and ended up with mushy mess of noodles that we barely could eat. Bummer..

  10. Kimberley

Ok, the dish is finished and has cooled some and…..boy, it’s good! I will definitely make this again. I’ll use regular sized spaghetti (although, I don’t mind the few clumps that are in here b/c they are minimal) next time. I’ve paired it with a chopped salad. I cook for myself only so this will be lunch and dinner tomorrow, as well, and the rest will get frozen. I hope it freezes well!

  11. Kimberley

This has 30 minutes to go in my crock pot and I can’t wait to taste it. I noticed when I stirred the spaghetti there was clumping. I picked up “thin” spaghetti thinking it would be best, but next time I’ll just get regular after reading the comments.

  12. Claire

Hmmm this looks so delicious and simple! I had no idea you could cook spaghetti in a slow cooker (esp the noodles!) but it’s a great idea. I know what I’m cooking for dinner tonight 🙂

  13. katie

this looks fabulous, making it tonight my DD is a little nervous about the “cheese” in the sauce, but I think she will love it

  14. Misty

I made this for dinner tonight. I used fully cooked sausage and mostaccioli and it came out delish.

This looks super easy and sounds GREAT….Always looking for new ways for the crockpot….Will be supper this week………..YUMMMMYYYYYYYYY

I can’t wait to try this! I need something that I can get ready before hand on soccer nights. This looks like the perfect solution! I just stumbled upon your site today and have already bookmarked 15 recipes. I can’t wait for your cookbook to come out!

    1. Jenny

So great to have you Stephanie! Hope you enjoy the recipes! Let me know if you have any questions along the way!

My crock pot and I are in the middle of a salacious affair lately and this spaghetti may be just what we need to spice things up. This sounds perfect, and hearty and wonderful after a long day of work.

  18. Sara

This was a winner at our house! I used only half the sauce, since that’s all I had and we don’t like a lot of sauce anyway. Also, I used water instead of chicken broth, because I didn’t have any broth. Still turned out good. I may add mushrooms next time though.

    Thanks for posting!

  19. Katie

I just made this and maybe I messed something up. I followed the directions exactly but ended up with mushy, clumps of pasta. Most of it stuck together and got all gummy and pasty. I peeled as much apart as I could before adding the broth and letting it cook another hour but yeah, just didn’t work for me. It tasted great, quite yummy but the mushy, pasty texture of the pasta just really turned us off. Oh well.

    1. Katie

This happened to me too! Did you use angel hair pasta? I am wondering if that made a difference in mine?!

      1. Katie

Same thing happened here! I wish I would have read allll of the comments before I bought the angel hair pasta yesterday. Oh well, at least I know what caused the clumpiness for when I make it next time. Note to self: get regular spaghetti noodles!

        1. Cool Breeze

Turned into mushy mess. Used whole wheat pasta which is normally more stout… Good idea but not too sure on the execution here. Help?

          1. jerri ryan

I think the angel hair pasta is the problem. I used angel hair (all I had) and we got mushy-cheesy pasta. 🙂 The kids ate it, but reluctantly!! Next time I will make sure to use spaghetti noodles.

          2. Vicki Buntemeyer

Didn’t work well for me either. Sauce on the bottom dried out and clumped a lot of the spaghetti together. Salvaged what we could and put in regular pot to finish it. Added more sauce and some tomato juice to finish cooking the spaghetti. The taste was pretty good but don’t think I will try it in crockpot again.

    2. Angela

No, it wasn’t just the angel hair, I used regular spaghetti noodles and had the same issue

      1. Angie

I had the same issue with my 5 qt Crock Pot which tends to run on the warmer side. When I used my 6qt Crock Pot (both Crock Pot brand) it worked out fine with spaghetti noodles. I think if your machine runs hotter, it sort of bakes the bottom instead of cooking through. If your machine runs warmer, what about trying it on low to start with and then after an hour or so, turn it up to high?

        1. Ryan

I’m wondering if some people only follows the picture directions and not the written ones?

I was looking off of the picture directions and couldn’t figure out for the life of me where the 3rd jar of sauce and the chicken broth came into play. It wasn’t mentioned in the picture directions, but was mentioned in the written ones. I imagine the extra sauce and the broth would loosen it up a bit.

  20. Kim in MD

Jennie- this looks so easy and amazingingly delicious! I have a question, though. Is there a reason why you add the chicken broth at the end instead of at the beginning? I wonder if you wouldn’t need three jars of marinara if you added the chicken broth in the beginning? I may give that a try and let you know how it turns out! Thanks for sharing your awesome recipes with us! 🙂

At first glance I saw Creamy “Crack” Pot Spaghetti and anything that is described as crack has got to be fantatstic…though now that I say that it makes me sound like a crackie, of which I am not…oh dear, this hole is going to get very large if I don’t stop now.
Needless to say – this looks fantastic and anything made in a crock-pot is always delicious.

  22. Bethface

So I made this tonight for dinner and it was so yummy and really easy. Although mine was done after only two hours, so happy I checked it.

  23. jessica

I work during the day away from home and am wondering how I might adapt the time on this recipe to be able to start it before I leave (around 8am) and have it go all day until I get home around 4:30 . . . is it possible to cook it on low for that period of time and have it be ok?? Thoughts? Thanks – love the crock pot but am having trouble finding recipes that can cook as long as I need them to. Thanks – love your site. One of my favorites.

    1. jessica

just made it through all the comments and say your reply to a previous post about leaving it all day. Think I will have to save this one for a day I am home. Looks good though.

      Thanks.

    1. Sandie

I am wondering, did the pasta come out mushy ? this sounds great, but not sure about how the texture would turn out

  24. Julia @ Must Come Hungry
