Chit Chat Second Edition

Chit Chat |

I EnjoyChit Chat Second Edition!

Hope you are enjoying my little tidbits of randomness.  I’ll be sharing what’s been going on the last week and my current obsessions for the week :)

Last week we went to AZ to visit our family and during our long drive I found this silly quote on Pinterest.  Seriously?!  Kind of made me laugh, and still does when I read it.

For the first few days in AZ, we stayed at my in-laws home in Mesa.  Reed and Lori are the sweetest people ever.  I feel so lucky to be apart of this family.

Reed made us his famous Green Chili and Cheddar Cheese scrambled eggs with Jalapeno Toast for breakfast Thursday morning.  See below.  Let’s just say I was in hog heaven!

Whisk and Eggs

While I was rummaging through Reed’s utensil drawer I cam across this adorable heart whisk!  They had no idea where they got it but my husband found it online at Bed Bath and Beyond.  There’s a picture of Reed’s yummy eggs that I posted on Instagram.  Wish I had some right now.

Sweet Tooth Fairy

Wednesday afternoon, my husband and I had a fun afternoon with Reed and Lori.  We went to lunch at White Chocolate Grill in Scottsdale then stopped at Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery in Scottsdale.  This bakery is awesome!  You must go if you ever go visit AZ.  The Va”Nie”lla cupcake was our favorite.  It’s named after Stephanie Nielson from Nie Nie’s Dialogue Blog :)  Love that!

Nielson's Collage

Friday for lunch we met my family at Nielson’s Frozen Custard in Mesa.  How adorable are my Mom and Dad aka Mona and Teedo?  My little niece Ellis is such a cutie too.  Oh my goodness, the grinders, French fries and fry sauce at Nielson’s are one of my favorite indulgences ever!

Cadbury Eggs

Couldn’t help but snap a picture of the Cadbury Eggs at the grocery store.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cadbury Eggs.  They remind me of my childhood so much.  They are so crazy sweet, but what a fun treat once a year!

M&M

I was over the moon when I found out I can purchase bags of mini-M&M’s in AZ.  I can only find the tiny mini plastic bottles at the check out line here in CA.  Let’s just say I stocked up, lol!

Grimaldi's Collage

Friday night we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Patsy Grimaldi’s Brick Oven Pizzaria in Scottsdale.  Talk about one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had.  Had so much fun with the family.  How cute is my little brother Derek?!  He’s almost 18 years old, I can’t even believe it.  He was born when I was a senior in high school.  I still think of him as a baby, lol!

Me and boys

My favorite part of our time in AZ was spending time with the family.  Pax started eating baby food for the first time.  He LOVED it.  It was so cute watching him chow down :)  My little niece Ellis in the middle picture LOVED snuggling with Pax.  It melted my heart to see her with him.  I love the last picture of my oldest son and Pax.  10 years apart but best friends.

Urban-Decay-Oz-Makeup-PalettesYou know my obsession with make-up right?  These are next on my list from Urban Decay.  Inspired by the new OZ movie coming out which I can’t wait to see :)

Nekter

So…..I thought it was a good idea to do a juice cleanse this week.  Um.  I was wrong, lol!  I need food.  I learned that I can NOT just drink juice all day.  All joking aside, my husband and I will be starting a juicing section on Picky Palate soon.  We love ordering the healthy juice at our local Nekter Juice Bar and will be making our own recipes to share with you soon!

Have a great rest of your week :)

Oh wait, where are my Bachelor fans?  Crazy week!  I have to say I knew AshLee was going home.  It’s always so painful to watch when they have no idea.  Her rose ceremony dress was a little…um…non existent in the chest area huh?!  Yikers.  I don’t know about you but I am counting down the days to watch Women Tell All.  Tierra is going to get eaten alive.

Until next time!

PS. This is not a sponsored post, I paid for all of my meals from the restaurants I shared.  Just my personal opinions!

Lori and Brandon and I were talking tonight about juicing! It was right before you got there and I’ve wanted to do an extended juicing thing, a couple days, but have never tried it for the reasons you just said! My husband has been saying he wants to get into juicing more…so I need to dust off my juicer. Can’t wait to see your posts about it. Great seeing you tonight! :)

I love Sweet Tooth Fairy & Nielson’s Frozen Custard! Great Utah companies that made their way to AZ!

I have that same little heart whisk! I got it as a favor once! It’s actually came in handy once or twice lol. I am also kind jealous of that big of mini M&Ms! We only have the tubes here too and sometimes not even those!

    Hi…
These chit chats are cute… And I have a suggestion about the mini M&M’s… As much as I hate Walmart, a couple of the stores near me carry the minis in the bigger bags (I bring them to work all the time and dole them out slowly). I also found them on amazon once, but it was a box of six bags or something like that. I just thought I would let you know!! I love your recipes and cannot wait to read more!

Thanks for the suggestions in Scottsdale. We now have a house in North Scottsdale and are exploring places to eat. We drive by the White Chocolate Grill every day and now we will stop in for dinner!! And…maybe even check out the Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery!!

Loved this post! I love reading about people coming to my neck of the woods and enjoying places that we frequent – Grimaldis is just PHENOMENAL, isn’t it? Your family is adorable and I’m THRILLED that you’ll be talking about juicing more – I love juicing and always like hearing about others’ tips and strategies!

First of all, I’m enjoying your thoughts and and sharings. Can you imagine how sad and depressing it could be living with AshLee? How paranoid she might be? I wanted to reach through the screen and shout,”Stop talking!”

Pax just slays me – he is SO adorable!!!

I live in Germany, but after reading about your pizza and cupcakes, I feel like hoping on a plane to AZ! :). I’ve read about the Sweet Tooth Bakery before, and since I make it my mission to try out every cupcake place I can find, (when im in the states,) I hope I’ll get the opportunity to try theirs some day soon. Since moving to Germany, I don’t get to watch The Bachelor anymore (but I love reading my older brother’s live Tweets of the show.). If you get a chance, check out ABC.com’s “After the Final Rose” digital show, my brother, Marc Istook, is one of the hosts! (Can you tell I’m a proud sister?!) :)

I LOVE Nielsen’s and I must make it to Sweet Tooth Fairy soon! Glad you found the mini M&M’s in large quantities, such a huge perk in AZ ;-)I’ve always wanted to try juicing, very excited to see whats to come :)

  14. 14

I love Creme Eggs! When I was a kid I’d bite the top off and scoop out the creme with a spoon and then eat the chocolate…crazy but good!

    Kristen M. says:

I am a Target girl all the way but I would occasionally venture into Wal-Mart just for Mini M&M’s because they sell the bigger bags. Recently the Target I shop at in San Diego added Mini M&M’s in the big bags and I swear I jumped for joy in the candy aisle. No more Wal-Mart for me! Maybe it will spread throughout SoCal? :)

My little brother was born when I was 13. When I had my oldest son he was 13 so that was kind of neat.

That is the same reason I have never been able to do a juicing cleanse. I need to eat actual food.

Little Pax is growing up way too fast! Enjoyed your Instagram feed last week — made me miss my family even more so!

I didn’t know there was a Sweet Tooth Fairy in AZ – fun! And before this Bachelor episode, i was sure that Ashlee was going to be the one. Can’t wait for The Women Tell All!!

I loved this chat session. A lot of information…love the whisk and will try those eggs definitely. I am hungry now after hearing about all your wonderful meals out. I am with you…can not drink my food, know a cleanse would not work for me! Thanks for the tip on the mini m&m’s…will look next time I go. For some of us, that is our only option for shopping depending on where you live. Really enjoy your blog and your chats!

Here in Indiana we have bags of mini M & M’s! I thought they had them in all the states! I guess not! I’m lucky! :)

    That whisk! So cute :)
Also, I love the bags of mini M&Ms! Totally better than buying the tubes :)

I love your new Chit Chat feature – a great addition to your blog :) I watch The Bachelor, too. I had a feeling Ashlee was going home, as well. You could tell she was more into him than the other way around. She was sweet, but maybe needs some therapy to help get over her issues. I love his final choices, though! He’s really been a good Bachelor – except how long it took him to kick Tierra to the curb!
