Happy Friday to you! A little chit chat today 🙂 I feel like it’s been a while!
If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that I started a new Disney Instagram called @Disneyhungry. As some of you know, when we lived in California, we reviewed nearly every restaurant in Disneyland, so I am now sharing those photos on my new page. No worries, @pickypalate is still my main page, just added a new one for any of you who visit Disneyland with your families!
I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I was invited to the Disney Social Media Mom’s Conference May 7-10th held at DisneyWorld. This time I get to take my 2 older boys, my girlfriend from California and her son. We are so excited. More fun DisneyWorld photos to come 🙂
LOVING these Linen-Blend Boyfriend Tees from Old Navy! I literally bought one in almost every color. Great fitting t-shirt great for summer! THIS is also a great dress for summer. I got the pink stripe.
Front then back sides of cards 🙂
So excited about my new business cards I ordered from Minted.com. They have the cutest cards. If you are in need of any I highly recommend them!
Anyone else LOVING Alex and Ani bracelets? My friend Shelly wore them in Orlando in February and have been hooked ever since. Apparently they are just making their way to the West Coast! I am sooo going to collect these Disney ones on my upcoming trips! Yay!!
Make sure you are following me on Instagram for sneak peeks at upcoming recipes and @Disneyhungry if you are Disneyland fans! Also make sure you are signed up to receive Picky Palate delivered right to your email!
Have a great weekend! See you Monday with a new recipe!
Happy Friday! A little chit chat today about my trip to Rocky Point Mexico with the family for Spring Break 🙂
A month or so ago, some of our neighbors and friends invited us to Rocky Point for Spring Break. I have to say, I have grown up in AZ most of my life and have never been to Mexico. It’s only a 4 hour drive too! After some discussing back and forth, we decided, why not, lets try it out this year.
I’m pretty sure, you’ll see by the photos, we had the best time. I was definitely skeptical and a little nervous being out of the country with the kids, but are so glad we went. We’ll be making this a tradition every year.
We stayed at Las Palomas Beach and Golf Resort. If you check out VRBO, you can search through and find condos to choose from. The view from the rooms is amazing!
We had so much fun beach time with the kids and friends. The beach is much different that the CA beaches I’m used to. There are no waves that roll in, however they have banana boat rides and jet ski’s for rent. I could not get enough of the vendors that walk the beach and sell their goods. My favorite was the jewelry vendors selling gorgeous silver and turquoise pieces. Too much fun!
One of our favorite daily treats was the mango on a stick. The boys got theirs plain, but they come with fresh lime and chile seasoning. Literally to die for! I’m so making these at home. We had some of the best homemade tamales on the beach too. The best part is you don’t have to go anywhere. The vendors walk the beach most of the day.
I’ve got to practice my knife skills, lol! This baby is so good.
My neighbors and friends 🙂 We tried some amazing Mexican restaurants every night. Pollo Lucas was our favorite….with Thrify Ice Cream every night. So much fun cruising the town with these ladies and their families.
Hands down my favorite treat of the trip were these homemade churros from Choya or Cholla Mall (I saw it spelled both ways). It was less than 5 minutes from where we were staying. Crispy yet custardy in the centers with cinnamon and sugar. Wish I could get these everyday….well it’s probably best I’ll only have access to them once a year, lol!
Such a fun adventure with my little family. My boys will always remember this vacation. We can’t wait to go back next year.
Our tips for visiting Rocky Point Mexico with your family:
It’s helpful to go with a group of people who have been before. I can’t say we’d ever go with just our family alone.
Don’t forget to plan for passports. If you are driving, the kids 16 and under will need original copies of birth certificates.
Bring your own bottled water, we didn’t drink their water just to be safe.
Bring lots of cash in small bills. It was a bit of a pain to get money from the bank there.
Bring plenty of snacks from home for your room and beach.
Dental floss in your bag for all of the mangoes you’ll eat 🙂
Obvious things like keep your car doors locked while you’re out and don’t leave valuables inside.
I’m sure I’ll add to this list as I think of more tips!
…not a sponsored post, just wanted to share our first experience in Rocky Point 🙂
Have a great weekend!
See you Monday with a new recipe!
So excited to share my trip to Walt Disney World with you! I always love going to Food Blog Forum!
Felt like a little girl so excited crossing the Magic Kingdom welcome on the Magic Express!
The Grand Floridian is so beautiful. Love the Mickey Shaped towels waiting for us 🙂 My flight got in late in the afternoon, so I had 5 minutes to change and get myself to our first dinner reception. It was at the Four Seasons. They did a beautiful job for us.
After dinner we made our way over to Magic Kingdom! Can’t get over how massive Cinderella’s castle is in Orlando. Our Disneyland one is beautiful, but doesn’t come close to this baby!
The next morning we listened to the talented and inspiring Food Blog Forum speakers. Loved all of the colorful Tieks we had on!
We had the most amazing lunch at California Grill prepared by what seemed like dozens of Disney Chefs throughout the parks. Each station had gorgeous plates ready for us. It was wonderful!! Photo, Left: Kristan, Shelly, Amanda, me 🙂
This dessert!! No words. Decadent chocolate mousse was out of this world.
A few of us went back to Magic Kingdom after our last session with Food Blog Forum. It was rainy, but beautiful!
Passed by the colorful Electrical Parade. Love it!
On our way out stopped for ice cream. Not sure mine was big enough, lol!
Last Sunday we had all day to just play at the parks. We started with Mickey Waffles for breakfast of course, lol!
First stop was Hollywood Studios and…..Tower of Terror. Oh my goodness this ride is beyond terrifying. Looks like I’m laughing but I’m screaming beyond bloody murder, ha!
We rode some more rides and stopped for this cutest Mickey Macaron! Had to wear my Mustard Yellow Tieks to match Minnie. Ha!
It was off to Epcot Center! We were ready for some good eats around the countries and Soarin’ over California….my favorite ride ever!
Couldn’t get over the amazing plant displays they had through the park. Love!!
One of my favorite stops is always Werther’s Caramel Bakery in Germany!! I mean look at these cookies!
Huge thanks to Julie, Lindsay, Jaden, Scott, Diane, Todd and the wonderful folks at Disney for all of their hard work to make this event happen. It is one of my favorite events to attend by far. So many great memories made. Can’t wait to go back!
Happy Saturday to you! A little chit chat coming your way today 🙂

I’m getting so excited to go to Walt Disney World next Friday!! I’m going for the Food Blog Forum and meeting lots of my blogging friends there. This is one of my favorite events of the year. I am Disney obsessed and miss living by Disneyland so much. Guess I’m a little girl at heart, lol! I might have even ordered THESE shoes to match Minnie Mouse’s shoes 🙂
Can’t even wait to collect the Disney World Starbucks collector mugs!
Pax and I had so much fun opening these gorgeous enameled cast iron cookware from Martha Stewart sold at Macy’s. Not even kidding, it is amazingly gorgeous! I am excited to share with you the launch of Whim™, an exclusive bedding and dinnerware collection from Martha Stewart available only at Macy’s.
This is the 8 Qt. Round Casserole in Teal. How stunning is this?! Can’t even wait to create a new soup in this fab pot!
Super excited to try the new Kura smoothie powder in our morning smoothies! Trying it out this week.
That’s all for me this week, have a great rest of your weekend!
Can’t wait to share a new recipe first thing Monday!
Disclosure: I received the Martha Stewart Cookware to review, however thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you follow me on Instagram, it’s no secret I am obsessed with Tieks. I’ve worn them for a little over a year now and still can’t say enough about them. I kind of live in them daily, lol! Nothing says love more than a pair of Cardinal Red Tieks. My newest pair….LOVE them. They would make the perfect gift!
Anthropology has some AMAZING kitchen ware right now. I couldn’t ever decide what to post, it’s all amazing! I’m thinking I’ll be purchasing some of my own Valentine Gifts this year 🙂
How cute is this set….also from Anthropologie?! There’s also THIS, THIS, THIS, and THIS. Now….if guys are reading this, please don’t only get your girl kitchen gifts….add some roses or chocolates with these items. Trust me on this one 🙂
This cuff!! Perfection.
This eyeshadow palette is my favorite ever. The best colors for any occasion. I highly recommend this one!
James Michelle is one of my favorites to get jewelry from. This adorable heart necklace would make a great gift.
These leggings!! Oh my goodness I bought them with some of my Christmas Gift Cards and they are my current favorite leggings. So comfy and so cute. THESE and THESE are on my wishlist too. Trying to justify THIS Hobo bag to put my yoga mat in. Ha! Won’t happen, but it’s so cute!
Still loving my Fitbit Flex! Tracks how many steps/activity you take per day. I did take a little break, but I’m back and I am loving it again. This pink one is adorable!!! Tory Burch made a bracelet for Fitbit! How cool is that?
Perfume is ALWAYS a safe gift. I am loving Florabotanica by Balenciaga right now. I found it at Sephora when the adorable bottle caught my eye. It smells as lovely as the bottle is perfection. It’s a very light floral that layers so nice with my favorite Anthropologie Vanille. On my wishlist is Flower Market by Replica.
If you still can’t decide what to get HER for Valentine’s Day, go with a great gift card and let her go shopping herself. Nordstrom would be my first pick. Sephora and TJ Maxx Gift Cards are great too. A gift card to a spa day is always well received too! Good luck!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my picks for Valentine’s Day! Have a great weekend 🙂
Disclosure: I partner with Tieks, however thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s Friday! Ahhh, so glad the weekend is here. Welcome to another Chit Chat Day!
So, I have to say I am so proud of myself so far this year! I have eaten really healthy this week limiting my sugary snacks that I love so much. I’ve also given up my Coke Zero….I’m still missing it, ha! 2015 is off to a great start. I have to admit I did take one bite of THIS yesterday. But I swear just one bite, lol!
I just got this new Spiralizer in the mail this week. I have been wanting one for months now. My friend Shelly posted about hers and I finally ordered one. Not only does it make awesome vegetable noodles, but the boys and I had so much fun playing with it. These are zucchini noodles in the photo. We also make apple noodles. Kind of loving it.
Once I had all of those zucchini noodles spiralized, I tossed them into a hot skillet with a little olive oil and sautéed them for 2 minutes with a pinch of salt and pepper. I added about 1 teaspoon of teriyaki sauce and topped with some roasted chicken. These were amazing!! Seriously took about 10 minutes from start to finish. Looking forward to playing around more with it. I had no idea there was a blog that does all spiralizing recipes. So fun. Check it out HERE.
One of my other favorite healthy snacks right now is the giant bag of Near Naked Popcorn that we get from Costco. Minimal calories for giant handfuls, lol! It has so much flavor. Check it out for sure. My 9 year old and I even sprinkle cinnamon on top to shake around. So good.
I seriously don’t know what I would do without my Quest Bars. I have one in the morning about 7am before I go to the gym and it lasts me until at least 10:30am before I need something else. The Peanut Butter and Jelly variety is my favorite! It doesn’t taste like a PB&J sandwich. It’s sweet and salty, but in the best way. You gotta check these out 🙂
I finally started doing yoga again. I always seem to find my way back to it. I took a year off after we moved back to AZ, but started back up this week. It feels amazing and it’s by far my favorite way to exercise. There’s something so great about doing hot yoga. Looking forward to getting stronger this year.
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway that was posted this week. Over $2500 in prizes!

Loooove the new Poloroid Cameras. I keep saying I am going to get one and just haven’t yet. Urban Outfitters has this one and some others available.
My favorite slow cooker makes a great gift! Love this one from KitchenAid.
Obsessed with these Red UGG Slippers
One of my favorite scents this year is Georgio Armani Si. Light and so pretty. Check it out, makes a great gift. Some of my other favorite scents are Vanille from Antropologie, La Vie Est Belle from Lancome and Nectarine Honey Blossom from Jo Malone.
These Anthropologie Scalloped Cake Stands! Beautiful!
The boys and I are so excited to try out this Chocolatebar Maker kit. Check out their fun website HERE for more information.
I can’t say enough about the Madsen Cycles! I’ve had my bike since the spring and the boys and I love it. Can’t wait to go look at neighborhood Christmas lights in the bucket soon!
One of our favorite healthy protein bars is Quest Bars. I love having one of these in the morning and or snack time. They are packed with protein and oh my gosh they taste great! Trust me, this would be a great stocking stuffer! Some of my favorite flavors at Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough, and Peanut Butter Jelly. The new S’mores flavor is awesome too. Tastes like Cookie Dough to me. Quest Nutrition also started selling healthier chips. We’ve tried them and really liked them.
My Tiek obsession continues with these amazing Leopard Print ones! Can’t even tell you how much I love these ballet flats. I wear them every single day. I love dressing them up or wearing with my lounge clothes and they are my favorite travel shoes. Comfortable and so cute. They would make the perfect gift if you ask me!
Love these fun Hello Apparel Hoodies. I need to add these to my wish list 🙂
Love this pretty Albion Fit Pullover.
Kate Spade never lets me down. I mean, how adorable are these favor bags?!
….and this fun Kate Spade Mug. This saying never gets old, lol!
Have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday with a new recipe!

Happy Friday to you! Another Chit Chat Edition today 🙂
Flour was flying in the kitchen earlier this week with all of the cookies I was making! Had a fun cookie exchange with some of the ladies in my church Tuesday night.
I used my friend Amanda’s fun decorating ideas from her post HERE.
I know Thanksgiving is coming up sooooo soon. I’ve got to remind you, my all-time favorite Stuffing recipe is HERE. I will be make a double batch for my family. It is AMAZING 🙂 Definitely going to try to get as much cooking and baking that I can on Wednesday night. I could use a good workout Thursday morning before all of the eating festivities begin, lol! We literally have a Thanksgiving lunch with my family then dinner with my husband’s family. Hope I can pace myself!
So, I’ve had my tree up for over a week now! It was a little early, but for some reason I couldn’t wait to have it up this year. I went with a red and white candy-ish theme. Glad we get to enjoy it a few extra weeks 🙂
Don’t know what’s overcome me…I’ve even started my Christmas shopping. I am usually queen of procrastination. It’s kind of a nice change.
Trying to explain to my 2 year old Pax that the chocolate chip cookie ornament is NOT to eat is obviously not working. He tries to eat it daily.
How fun are these foodie gifts from Minted? Personalized wrapping paper, sweet framed art and customized kitchen tags. You can literally include one of your favorite recipes on the wrapping paper. Looooove these!
I’ve been using Minted for my Christmas Cards for years. Some of my favorite Christmas Card designs this year: This one, this one, this one, this one, and this one 🙂 It all kind of depends on what picture you use right?
Here’s an outtake of our family photos for Christmas cards this year. I didn’t end up choosing this one…not sure why I left my pointer finger out while holding my husband’s hand. Charlie’s Angels? Brady wasn’t smiling that great either.
Pax would not have smiled if his life depended on it….for the entire photo shoot, looked kind of like a little deer in headlights in all of our pictures, stinker!
I’ll share the photo I ended up using in an upcoming chit chat post.
Don’t forget to sign up to receive Picky Palate recipes right to your email. I’m starting monthly newsletters with some fun little extras too.
Have a great weekend! See you Monday with a new recipe!
