Cook Spaghetti Until Al Dente

Creamy Chicken Bacon Baked Spaghetti

You’ll start by cooking your spaghetti noodles. Drain and set aside for a few minutes.

Finely chop your white onion.

Saute your onion and garlic for about 5 minutes, until softened.

Tips For Making Creamy Chicken Bacon Baked Spaghetti

*Be sure to not overcook your spaghetti noodles. In fact, undercook for 1 minute so they keep their bite.

*Use Rotisserie chicken, shredded to cut down on prep time.

*Pre-cook your bacon or use microwave bacon to save even more time.

*Store leftovers in an airtight container for no more than 3 days.

*When reheating, add a couple splashes of milk or cream to loosen sauce that thickens.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound thin spaghetti noodles
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 heaping cup finely chopped white onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 cups cooked chopped chicken
  • 12 strips cooked bacon cut into small pieces
  • 8 ounces heavy cream or whole milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and lightly spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside for a few minutes.
  • Heat oil in large dutch oven over medium heat. Saute onions and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in chicken and bacon, cooking for another 5 minutes. Add cooked pasta, heavy cream, parmesan, salt and pepper. Transfer half of the pasta to prepared baking dish. Top with 1/2 of the shredded cheese. Top with remaining pasta and remaining cheese on top. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and pasta hot. Remove from oven and serve warm.
