Hey everyone, check out this great new cookbook up for grabs to 3 lucky Picky Palate readers by Sara Lee. I have spent the last few days flipping through the book and it is incredible! It’s a beautiful hardcover cookbook, full of great photography and health conscious recipes. Here’s some info on the book:
Sara Lee is partnering with The Heart Truth Campaign to raise awareness of heart disease among women and encourage them to make heart healthy food choices every day to take care of their bodies and their families. One of the best things a mom can do for her family is take care of herself. One of the easiest ways to take care of herself is to establish a heart healthy eating routine.

I’ve started eating a lil bit healthier since my hubby got allergic to dairy. (bummer) I love sliced cucumbers with Spike seasoning sprinkled over them, such a delicious flavor and great for you!
I absolutely LOVE cold watermelon, my boys do too!
My kids and I love to munch on baby carrots. They’ll often choose those over things like potato chips. We also like pretzels.
Sugar snap pees are my favorite, especially from my garden.
I love fruit smoothies!!

Oh I just have to win one! I have been trying to learn how to cook healthier but I just can’t come up with very many good ideas! I bet this would help me tons! My favorite healthy snack is carrots or trail mix!
Oatmeal with some berries, chopped nuts and brown sugar makes a great brunch for me.
Apple salsa with homemade whole wheat cinnamon tortilla chips…YUM!

In our house we are always snacking on fruit and we never get sick of it cause there’s so many types of fruit! My little 3 year old loves all types of berries and he’d do just about anything to get berries!
I absolutely LOVE yogurt – I might be a bit of a yogurt snob 🙂 Yoplait Light Strawberry is my favorite!
My big thing now is marinated mozzerella balls, with fresh basil and a grape or cherry tomatoe.
My favorite healthy snack is…apples with peanut butter.
I like grapes, or carrots with ranch (the ranch isn’t healthy, I know…) Or yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit

I love Clementine tangerines, no seeds and easy to peel. Also frozen grapes!

mix a bit of low fat cream cheese with dried cranberries and spread it on some celery. Yummy! and full of fiber goodness.
That cover recipe looks fantastic, I LOVE pasta! A favorite healthy snacks is roasted veges with hummus on top.

Favorite? Depends on my mood. Edamame, almonds, or carrots with hummus are among my favorites.

Wow! Everyone has such great ideas… I think I’m going to write some of them down… my favorite healthy snack is ants on a log… celery with peanut butter and raisins. Yummy!!
I love raw veggies and fresh fruits. Found out yesterday I needed to change my diet to “heart healthy” so need to look for this book IF I don’t win …
I love raw almonds and a tall glass of cold water. Takes the edge off my hunger, especially at night!
