Weekend in Carlsbad California

Sharing our Weekend in Carlsbad California with you today! What a gorgeous place to vacation in the California sunshine.

We had the pleasure of staying at Cape Rey Carlsbad Hilton last weekend for the end of our Fall Break vacation. I have to say we had such a lovely stay. The location, views, friendly staff, room….you name it, it was all such a treat.

We had just come from 3 days at Disneyland for our Fall Break annual vacation. It was a breath of fresh air staying right across from the beach at Cape Rey.

My boys put their things in our room and raced straight to the pool. It was fantastic.

The lobby entrance area was clean and inviting. Check-in was quick. Great experience.

Love the decor throughout the lobby. Great lighting, nice white beachy furniture. Cape Rey offers many outdoor activities should you be interested. You can reserve a Picnic on the Beach basket, lounge poolside with an ocean view, rent bikes, reserve a beach pack with everything you need for a day at the beach and there’s even live music playing outside by the pool when the sun goes down.

Clean Bright Rooms

We walked into our room with comfortable cozy beds and a view that overlooked the ocean and pool. It was really a great first impression.

Nice clean bathroom with great bath and body products.

Beautiful Pool

The view outside our window as the sun was setting. How lovely is this?!

We spent our second day at the pool with the kids. This is my happy place!

The Poolside Food is a MUST!

We ordered some poolside food including this hummus plate. It was delicious.

The Margherita Pizza was as good as it looks.

The boys split this gorgeous burger. What a fun afternoon!

We had dinner reservations at Chandler’s right inside the hotel.

There were so many great options on the dinner menu. Hard to choose!

The bread basket was warm and delicious. Pax went nuts for all of it 🙂

We started with the Berkshire Pork Dumplings and Butternut Squash Gratin. Cullen ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Tacos that were unbelievable. I ordered the Chef Teri “Yaki” Chicken that I LOVED!

For dessert we shared this gorgeous Pear Galette. Oh my goodness it was amazing.

We also shared the Churros and Hot Chocolate. No words needed. Lol!

Cape Rey Carlsbad is a perfect family vacation destination. It is right across from Carlsbad State Beach and close to Legoland, San Diego Zoo and Sea World if you are looking for a great place to stay for those activities.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the near future.
