Pretty simple line up of ingredients today. I am on a major brown butter kick. Any recipe of mine that uses brown butter, note that you can always just use softened butter too. I love the deep flavor the brown butter brings, but it is not absolutely necessary if you’d rather use just softened 🙂  I also used a fancy oatmeal mix we had in the pantry that had some craisins and brown sugar bits. Quick oats will work just fine 🙂

Brown butter into a nice large mixing bowl to start. See my instructions below on how to brown your butter.

How To Brown Butter

See my How To Brown Butter post for full details and step by step photos.

Add your granulated sugar.

Brown sugar too!

A nice splash of vanilla.

Dry ingredients up next.

Add your oatmeal next. This is my fancy oatmeal that I had in the pantry, anything you’ve got on hand will do the trick. Even granola would be great.

I heart butterscotch.

Nom nom nom 🙂

Press your dough into your baking pan and bake for about 30 minutes.

Perfection! I cut off 1/4 inch around the edges just so my bars are nice and even, but do whatever you’d like 🙂

Butterscotch heaven!!
