What You’ll Need

You’ll need just a handful of easy to find ingredients to make your own homemade chicken tenders at home. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the post for full instructions and details.

What Exactly Is Chicken Tenderloin?

The tenderloin is an especially tender yet infrequently used cut of meat. Its tenderness comes from the fact that muscles closer to the spine are exercised less frequently than other muscles and are therefore more tender. I also love that chicken tenderloin is fairly inexpensive!

How To Make Crispy Chicken Tenders Recipe

  1. Heat Oil. Place 3 tablespoons Canola or Vegetable oil into a large skillet over medium heat. Transfer chicken tenders onto a clean plate.
  2. Prepare Dry Panko Mixture. Place Panko, Parmesan, salt, pepper and garlic salt into a small bowl. Stir to combine. Transfer Panko mixture to a shallow plate/dish.
  3. Prepare Wet Mix. Place buttermilk and sriracha into a medium size shallow bowl, stir to combine.

4. Dip Chicken Tenderloins. In batches, dip each chicken tender first in buttermilk mixture making sure to shake off excess. Next, press each side of chicken tender into the Panko mixture.

5. Cook Chicken. Place each coated chicken tender into hot skillet and cook both sides until crispy golden brown, about 4 minutes per side. For the last couple minutes, turn the tenders on their sides to brown both sides. Remove from hot skillet and place onto a clean plate.

6. Serve. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

How To Serve Chicken Tenders?

You’ve got lots of options actually. My chicken tenders are great by themselves with some dipping sauces. You could also serve them with a nice salad and rolls. They’re also so good with my homemade mashed potatoes.

Storage Instructions

Refrigerate. Store leftover chicken tenders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating Instructions. I like to reheat my chicken tenders in the air fryer. Heat the air fryer to 350 degrees F. and cook for 3-5 minutes until crisp and hot!

Freezer Instructions. If you’d like to freeze the chicken tenders, place them once they’ve cooled in an airtight container or freezer safe bag and freeze up to 3 months. To reheat, thaw them, and then reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F. for 4-7 minutes until crisp and hot.
