Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • food coloring optional
  • 2 sticks butter softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 6-8 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1 bag candy coated chocolate eggs
  • chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare cake according to package directions, making cupcakes. Use food coloring to color cake however you'd like. Let cool completely.
  • To prepare frosting, beat butter, powdered sugar and cream in a stand or electric mixer until smooth. Frost on cooled cupcakes. Top centers with chocolate shavings and top with 3 candy eggs.

Notes

To shave chocolate, take a block of chocolate and use a vegetable peeler to peel chocolate. Use the curls and bits of chocolate to place on top of frosting.
