Weeknight Spaghetti

This simple Spaghetti Recipe is dictionary-definition comfort food! Add in ground beef meat sauce and this easy pasta dinner will automatically become one of your favorites!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white onion finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt Lawry's is good
  • 26 ounce jar of your favorite pasta sauce I prefer Trader Joe's 4 Cheese Pasta Sauce
  • 1 small jar of marinated artichoke hearts optional, but they are delicious in the sauce
  • 1 pound spaghetti dry noodles

Instructions

  • Place olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Saute onions and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes, stirring often.
  • Add ground beef, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Cook until browned. Stir in pasta sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes or until heated through. Season to taste if needs more seasonings. Add drained artichoke hearts if desired.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions (making sure pasta is al dente.) Serve pasta on individual serving plates, top with spoonfuls of meat sauce and top with Parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread and side salad if desired.
