No Yeast Bread Recipe

With yeast being hard to find at the grocery stores, I thought it would be nice to have a biscuit style bread recipe to whip up for the family that is so delicious with butter and jam. I wouldn’t say this is a great loaf for making sandwiches, but more enjoying with jam. Fun for brunch!

Ingredients For No Yeast Bread

  • all-purpose flour– All-purpose flour is the main dry ingredient in the bread recipe.
  • quick oats– Find quick oats in the breakfast isles of the grocery store.
  • baking soda– Baking soda helps the bread rise during baking.
  • baking powder– Baking powder also helps the bread rise during baking.
  • kosher salt– Kosher salt is a coarse salt commonly used in cooking and baking.
  • buttermilk– No substitutions here. Use real buttermilk only. Not the powder that you mix with water.
  • milk– 2% or higher milk works best.
  • canola oil– Canola oil is part of the wet ingredients in the bread recipe.
  • honey– Honey adds a touch of sweetness to the bread.
  • egg– For consistency, use large eggs for my recipes.
