What You’ll Need For French Toast Bake

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make this easy French toast bake recipe at home. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the page for full details and instructions.

  • Brioche– Look for brioche in the bakery section of your grocery store. It’s buttery and rich. Makes a delicious bread for French Toast and bakes.
  • Fresh Raspberries– Wash and gently dry fresh raspberries. I wouldn’t use frozen as the color bleeds through the rest of the ingredients.
  • Sliced Almonds– Almonds can be optional, but they pair nicely with the raspberries.
  • Large Eggs– For consistency, I always use large eggs for my baking and cooking.
  • Heavy Whipping Cream– Heavy cream is used for the egg base that gets poured over the bread cubes.
  • Brown Sugar– Brown sugar adds sweetness to the French Toast Bake.
  • Ground Cinnamon- Just a touch of cinnamon gives a nice spice.
  • Pure Vanilla Extract– For best tasting results, use pure vanilla extract.
  • Almond Extract– Almond extract can be optional.
  • Kosher Salt– Kosher salt is a coarse salt. I prefer using this variety for my cooking and baking.
  • Powdered Sugar– Also referred to as confectioners sugar. This fine powdery sugar gets dusted over top of the French Toast Bake.

Yes, that works great. Cover tightly with foil. If you have time, let come to room temperature before baking otherwise, it’ll just take longer to bake than the given time in the instructions.

This is the best idea for my breakfast tomorrow. I have a question, does the dish taste well if I use dried raspberries instead of fresh raspberries? Thank you.

      1. Jenny

Hi Lyndsey, I think fresh will taste the best, but if you only have dried, give it a try. Should be just fine too.
