Happy Thursday night everybody!
I don’t know what it is about tuna fish that makes my boys stop what they are doing and want to help me in the kitchen. I had some fun with the boys last week while they were fervently getting right to work to make our favorite classic tuna fish. I couldn’t help snapping them in action hard at work.
Tuna fish is kind of like chicken salad. There are so many variations. I like mine the good ol’ fashion way with nothing too crazy and so do my little rugrats. Don’t worry about the spinach, tell the kids that it’s like what Popeye eats to get really strong. It works every time with my guys.
Enjoy some fun in my crazy kitchen with my 2 silly boys! See ya’ll soon!

Hey, if you can get your boys to eat spinach…screw potty training!!!LOL
You can get your kids to eat spinach? Way to go Mom!
I could SO see my husband helping make tuna fish when he was a kid.
I’ve been looking for a pumpkin whoopie pie recipe……. maybe you can help? Your photos all look good enough to eat, so I think I’ve come to the right place.
Just found your blog and I’m really enjoying it – love the great pictures and easy recipes. I can’t wait to try the cookies with the new Kisses… yum!
Your boys are so cute! I wish both of my grandsons were close by, we could make tuna fish!
These look great. I am totally not a tuna person, but my husband loves it, so I’ll have to try this out for his lunch. Thanks for the idea.
They are so cute! I love tuna sandwichs.
I love your tuna fish sandwiches. I had forgotten about them. I’m going to make some very soon.
What cuties!(The boys not the sandwiches) Potty training is THE WORST!!Don’t stress over it! Have a great day!
Funny cute kids! Good luck with the potty training! And you can never go wrong with a tuna sadwich!
Your little rugrats are so cute! I’m finishing the process of potty training my 3-year-old, and I understand why you don’t feel like working on it yet! The messes to clean up are so awful sometimes!
Those sandwiches look delicious. I love tuna sandwiches!
Tuna salad rules, I usually wrap it in pizza dough and make a melt/calzone thing out of it. I used to love cooking with my mom when I was a kid (I still do as an adult, but don’t get to do it as often), it’s a great way to bond. And teach kids something useful. 🙂
This is too funny. My 6 year old had a break from school yesterday and wanted tuna fish sandwiches. He said he wanted a tuna fish sandwich everyday. They sure do love it. This looks delicious and I love the addition of the spinach. Have a great weekend, Jenny!
I haven’t had a good tuna fish sandwich in a long time! Your boys are toooo cute!
Honestly, it’s the simple food that’s the best in life!
OMG Jenny!!!!!! Those are awesome shots!!! My 5yo may be potty trained but I am still SO jealouus of your cutie pies on the counter wanting to make something. I am still trying to get my little guy in the kitch with me. Too cute, and the tuna looks great!!!!!!
Looks like you had some great help in the kitchen. They boys are too cute!
they are soooooo cute. what good little helpers. I love your new masthead.
Your kids are too cute! I love how they are sitting on the counter to make the tunafish! lol. Great post Jenny! Sandwich looks yummy too!
As long as you don’t have to take his bride to be aside and explain he’s wearing diapers I wouldn’t worry. They are beautiful children, Jenny.
How cute they are, oh my!!! Love the pictures of your little ones… I can hardly wait until mine are that old to help me in the kitchen like them!!!
We love tuna salad too… it’s so fresh… In Chile (where I am from) we make it REALLY simple, and it doesn’t matter how you make it… it always is delicious!
Jenny-your boys are precious! Don’t feel bad about the potty training thing-my daughter had had it with her oldest and told him he’d better be potty trained before they went to Disney World or something about Stitch (from the movie Lilo and Stitch) and body parts-yes she had reached the end of her rope…from the moment she told him whatever she told him, he was trained-maybe I don’t wanna know the details?? :O
We LOVE tuna fish sandwiches here too-and you’re right-everyone has their own way-yours sounds great!
that tuna sandwhich looks so good….but your little boys are so cute! i still ran around in a diaper when i was 3….
I love Diaper Boy up there, hilarious and so cute!
Your blog looks great! I love the new look and you have so many cool new features. Congrats lady!
What great pictures! And we love tuna salad around here!
I feel your pain, I truly do! I potty trained my 3 year old boy by ambush this summer when the sitter needed a week off. I stayed homefor 10 days straight and he was either naked or in underpants. I put him on the pot every 15 minutes until he started telling me he needed to go. That was July. We are already potty trained through the night!
You’ll get there, I waited for him to “be ready” like they say will happen, and it never did, so I made it happen!
Ive just eaten a tuna sanger! I love em! Im potty training my 18 month old at the moment – according to my Mum girls are much easier to potty train than boys! She’s doing ok but the other day she was in the bath and said she needed to go and I told her to wait a minute- too late!! and Im not just talking about a wee!!
Jenny – neither of my boys trained early… one did it by 3 1/2 the other was closer to 4 and still had the occasional accident. Hang in there, he’ll get it!
I’m not a fan of tuna sandwiches, but the rest of my family is… yours looks wonderful in the picture. Your boys look like they are having a great time helping!
Thanks Sara,
It is fun to have them help me, but yes, the kitchen gets demolished!
Thanks Barbara,
Too funny about your twins! Maybe I need to give that a try!
Thanks Sharon,
Funny, I still can’t stand the smell!
Deal Melody,
I keep putting this off and it’s getting crazy now!
That sounds like my oldest boy Lisa. I guess when they are ready they’ll do it!
Welcome Hornes!
Glad you found Picky Palate. Enjoy!
I just found your blog and I LOVE it! You have so many good ideas and what I love even more is that they are delicious meals made usually with stuff I already have! Thank you, thank you for all the food inspiration you share with all of us! I wanna come help you cook in your kitchen too!
Your boys are adorable! my son was potty trained at 3 1/2 (almost 4!). But he did it when he was ready. Once he was “trained” he never had an accident. I also never had to rush him to the bathroom. So hang in there. There aren’t any guys in college wearing diapers(I hope!)
Oh maybe you potty train my 3 yr old BOY and I will do yours! I don’t even see it in the near future! We love tuna around here, but instead of sweet relish I go for chopping up dill pickles and I add hard boiled eggs. YUM!
You have some cute sous chefs! I love my tuna salad the same way! When I was little, though, I couldn’t stand the smell of tuna. I got over it somewhere along the way.
Your boys are adorable! When I finally decided I had enough of diapers with my twins when they were 3, I took away their diapers and had them run around naked. They were trained in about a day. Good luck!
Your boys are too cute. My 20 month old little boy loves to be in the kitchen with me when I cook. Can’t wait until he actually helps me cook, rather than helps me make messes… I love tuna fish-thanks for all the great recipes.
