Finally back home tonight from a fun filled week in AZ visiting family. It makes my transition in CA easier when I get to see my family often like this!
I don’t know about all of you, but I am a faithful Top Chef watcher! Last Friday I had the opportunity to chat on the phone with Stephanie Izard, winner of Top Chef Season 4. I am a huge fan of the show, so it was so much fun talking with her and she couldn’t have been nicer. She was at the Food and Wine Festival in Miami during our talk saying how great the festival was rubbing elbows with chefs from all over the country.
She said she is finishing up her new restaurant hoping to open early summer of this year. “It’s sort of a Mediterranean-inspired gastropub,” she says. “Fun and casual is what I’m going for.” I asked Stephanie if the Quickfire Challenges are as crazy as they seem on the show and she said yes, the time goes so fast so everyone is running around like crazy.
She also said she will start blogging on Bravo.com about the show and will be a part of the new Quaker Oats Viewer Quickfire Challenge that Bravo is hosting.
I know we talked about more, but my brain is tired and I wish I would have taken notes! I have loved all of the great opportunities that have come from writing Picky Palate. I’ll be sure to continue sharing them with all of you!

Stephanie is great! I spoke w/her last Friday and really enjoyed it!
How awesome to talk with her! Thanks for sharing!
Wow what a great experience!
That’s so exciting! And I was watching you on TV the other night. I was watching the burger cook-off with you and Camilla. I never got to see who won though.
The fiance had me cooking dinner.
How fun!!
Sounds like fun!
What an amazing opportunity Jenny. WElcome back, I’ve missed you!
Love Top Chef. Stephanie was one of my favorites. Not sure who I am pulling for in the finale of this season.
Glad you are back and had a great time. That is wonderful that you get those opportunities!!! Thanks again for the sweepstakes – I got my prize package. The boys were very surprised that the yogurt was a coupon. They are too young to know that you can’t put yogurt in the mail.
Wow, how fun! Youre like a mini-celebrity yourself
WOW Stephanie! That’s amazing! I was so happy that she was the winner last season!
You lucky girl!
How cool is that!! Good for you Jenny! I just got done watching the finale. I liked Carla:( But Hosea was good too.
How lucky are you! She was definitely my favorite!
She does look like a sweet girl!
I’m so glad that Hosea won. Stefan was a little too cocky!
