Peanut Butter Brownies
Peanut butter and Butterfinger are two of my very favorite ingredients inside my homemade brownies. These make me a very happy girl 🙂 These are so great packaged in a little bakery box tied with twine to give as gifts. They are thick, fudgy and irresistible. Grab your favorite mixing bowl and you’ll have these babies in the oven within 15 minutes. Enjoy friends!

Let’s start by mixing the softened butter and sugar.
How To Make Homemade Brownies
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. and line a 8×11 inch baking dish with parchment paper sprayed with cooking spray.
- Place butter into a large mixing bowl and microwave until partially melted. Add sugar and oil, mix until well combined. Stir in eggs and vanilla stirring until combined then add flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, chocolate chips and crushed Butterfinger. Stir until combined and thick.
- Transfer batter to prepared baking dish, spreading evenly. Drizzle melted peanut butter over batter and take knife to swirl peanut butter throughout.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until baked through. Remove and let cool completely, about an hour. Lift parchment and brownies out of pan and cut into squares to serve.
A touch of oil and vanilla.
Two eggs up next.
Dry ingredients please 🙂
Some lovely cocoa powder.
Mini chocolate chips up next. LOVE these 🙂
I use my wooden rolling pin to pound the Butterfinger bars until crushed then pour them right into the bowl.
Give a nice stir and please take a little sample.
Transfer your batter to a 8×11 inch baking dish. Spread batter evenly.
Melt peanut butter in the microwave until it’s thin. Drizzle over the top of your brownie batter.
Take a knife and run it through the batter to swirl peanut butter throughout. Swirled, now we’re ready for the oven.
Brownie heaven.
Fudgy and delish! Enjoy 🙂
Tips For Making The Best Brownies Ever
- Choose the right pan. Be sure to use the pan specified in the recipe you choose. Going with a pan that’s too small can sometimes make center of the brownies uncooked or undercooked, while choosing one that’s too large can lead to the batter spreading out too much and the brownies being too thin and dry.
- Don’t over mix your brownie batter. You want all of the brownie ingredients combined to make a smooth batter, but be careful not to overmix them. Doing so can result in tough, overworked brownies. One way to avoid this is to let the unbaked batter rest in the pan for several hours or overnight in the refrigerator, which gives it time to “relax” before being baked. The next day, bake as instructed.
- Store them properly. Once your brownies have cooled down to room temperature, cover the pan tightly in aluminum foil or transfer the brownies to a sealed container. Alternatively, brownies can be frozen but that may affect their texture. To avoid this problem with freezing, wrap each cut brownie in plastic wrap, then aluminum foil before placing them all together in an airtight freezer bag.

Hi Sara, yes you can use salted butter. Cut back on the salt added in the recipe to 1/2 teaspoon.

I hate to ask a dumb question but what size Butterfinger bars did you use? I’m in Canada and will have to find the metric equivalent.
Thanks!
It looks like the ones used are 2.1 oz each. If you look at the pictures you can see the weight of the bars just barely. Hope that helps.
