Good Saturday everyone!
I have thoroughly been enjoying the new line of Mezzetta Napa Valley Bistro Pasta Sauces. I’m telling you they are the closest thing to a homemade tasting sauce that I’ve tried. I used this sauce to make my latest soup and just made an awesome recipe with it last night that I’ll be sharing soon.
The folks at Mezzetta are offering 2 lucky Picky Palate readers 2 jars each of their new line of sauces. They retail for $5.99 each.
“We want Napa Valley Bistro products to bring the experience of dining in a Napa Valley restaurant right to your own table,” explains Jeff Mezzetta.
The Marinara Collection — four pasta sauces based on Italian imported plum tomatoes — were created to satisfy consumer demand for elegantly simple sauces which let the flavor of the tomatoes shine through. The Marinara Collection is an elegant complement to the original “Classic Combinations,” that features robust flavors in traditional combinations made with California plum tomatoes. Both lines are made with Napa Valley wine. Serving suggestions on each jar suggest different ways to use each sauce beyond pouring on pasta.
Here’s how to enter: Leave a comment and tell us about one of your favorite recipes that includes pasta sauce. You don’t have to write the recipe here, just tell us about it, I’d love to hear it! Tough choice for me, but I’m going with a classic cheesy lasagna with a nice red sauce. That’s hard to beat!
Contest ends Sunday night, Midnight PST. I’ll pick the 2 winners randomly and post them first thing Monday morning!

Good Luck everyone, see you all Monday Morning with the winners!
Man, my grandmomma was from Sicily and she made the most delicious meatballs I ever tasted, like you wouldnt believe. Sadly, she died last year and she didnt leave a single recipe for us so I’ve been trying to work it out on my own… slowly working my through the meatball recipe here, I still cant figure out what her secret ingredient was though!!!
I love ravioli

Sauce on everything!!!!! Definitly a sauce girl for sure! My all time fav is lasagna though and still ask Mom to make it every birthday!
I would say Chicken Parmesan or Parmigianna?
Anytype of red sauce pasta! delicious
Our latest fav is a whole wheat pita with meatballs, red sauce and mozzarella cheese! Yum!
My very own pasta bake is my favorite: it has mushrooms, bell peppers, pepperoni and mozz. cheese in it. Yumm stuff!
I would have to say chicken Parmesan is my very favorite. It’s so yummy.
I love to marinate meatballs in it and make meatball sandwiches. YUM!
I agree about the lasagna, but I’d have to add the simple classic–a great baguette with marinara as dipping sauce. Mmmm!
Yummy, my fav is lasagna
Spicy Italian Sausage or meatballs simmered in sauce. Place sausage or meatballs and some sauce on sliced italian bread, top with parmesan and yum. A good thick slice of fried eggplant instead of the sausage is especially delicious.
Lasagna would be my favorite too, loaded with Italian sausage! Yum!!
My choice, hands down, is LASAGNA!!! I like to make it with hot turkey italian sausage and ground turkey meat. YUM!!!
OHH MINE IS THE SPEGEHETTI THAT YOU HAVE POSTED WITH THE BACON AND CREAM IN THE RED SAUCE!!
we are a lasagna family these days, so that’s my vote!
I’m a vegan but I love pasta. I love to make my corkscrew pasta with a great spaghetti sauce filled with parmessan and monzrella cheese with lots of red peppers and lots of fresh rosemary and basil. Of course I use meatless vegan hamburger meat and vegan cheeses but I’m telling you it is out of this world. Especially when it is served with homemade garlic bread filled with vegan butter. To die for!
My favorite is angel hair topped with sauteed zucchini, sweet onions and lots of fresh garlic and a dollop of sweet tomato basil sauce and a little bit of parmesan cheese. Mmmm!
manicotti with lots of cheese…yum!
My mother in law’s chicken parmesan. The best part is that my husband almost has her recipe down pat!!!
I love any Italian food, well almost any food with Spaghetti sauce. In college my roomates and I would eat a healthy snack that we called “bean juices” just green beans with tons of good tomato sauce. Sounds strange, but try it.
Lasagna, of course, & good old fassioned doctored up speghetti & meatballs.
My family’s favorite is baked ziti which includes pasta sauce, meat and lots of different cheeses
