How To Make Magic Shell

  1. Place peanut butter into microwave safe bowl and heat in microwave for 20-30 seconds until liquid like. Stir in vegetable oil until well combined then stir in chopped Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Drizzle over firm cold ice cream and let harden. The peanut butter shell works best if you place back in the freezer once you drizzle it over your ice cream for a few minutes.

I used these  Mini Peanut Butter cups that I quartered, but you can chop up regular size ones if you’d like.

I recently tried both the chocolate and the cookies and cream Magic Shell and they were both a hit! I’ve also considered making it with butterscotch chips, but didn’t think of peanut butter! Yum! Does this actually harden though? (I would think peanut butter chips would harden better than real peanut butter, although that might not be as tasty.)

    1. Hi Terri, it doesn’t get as crunchy as the chocolate and cookies and cream version, but it does harden up. I place it back in the freezer for a few minutes after I pour it on the ice cream to help it out a little ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. BOOYAH! I’m not the biggest chocolate topping fan. It’s yummy and fun, just not my favorite topping. Peanut Butter on the other hand, well we were meant to be together, forever. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Best photos ever with the ice cream dripping down the sides of the cone onto his hand! That’s how ice cream should be. Bring on all the Magic Shell you want. They all look so yummy.
