There are so many great ways to use crescent rolls such as…..the classic Crescent Dogs, the lovely Crescent -Wrapped Brie, and the yummy Crescent Bacon-Cheese Tartlets. How do you like to “Crescent?”

Pumpkin Spiced Cream Cheese Breakfast Rolls

2 packages/cans Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

4 0z cream cheese, softened

1/4 Cup brown sugar

1/4 Cup canned pumkin (Libby’s)

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Unroll crescent rolls to form 4 rectangles placed side by side. Pinch seams together to form one long rectangle. Place cream cheese, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg into a mixer; beat until well combined. Spread mixture over crescents leaving a 1/2 inch border around edges. Starting at long end, roll up then cut into 1 inch pieces. Place around 2 9 inch cake pans that have been sprayed with cooking spray. I left the centers open so the rolls form a circle.

2. Bake for 28-30 minutes or until rolls are golden brown. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes. Frost warm rolls with cream cheese frosting recipe below.

Frosting

4 oz softened cream cheese

1/2 Cup powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 Tablespoon canned pumpkin (Libby’s)

1. Mix all ingredients into a large bowl until smooth. Spread over warm rolls.

    Use the roll dough to make a flat crust, brush with a a bit of garlicinfused olive oil, top with roasted red peppers, mushrooms and chopped green onion, and bake. Yum!

    I love Chocolate Filled croissants. Just put a pinch of mini chocolate chips at the base of the triangle & roll it up & bake it. Then melt a few more chips with a little shortening in the microwave & give a drizzle over the top of the cooked crescent. DELICIOUS! And EASY!

    Crescent Roll Lasagna. You use the rolls all in one sheet as the outside with the meat an cheese layered inside. It is a favorite around our house.

  7. My favorite recipe is the holiday cranberry wreat from the Pampered Chef.
    You take the first pkg.of crescent rolls and put one pkg. in a circle with the pointy part out. Then attach the second pkg. fat sides to fat sides. You fill it with turkey or chicken with mayo, dijon, celery and craisins. You put a scoop on each fat part then take the point and cover it then overlap the next one until it is wrapped all the way around. I think it has parmesan cheese in it too. Delicious

    I LOVE crescent rolls so I probably shouldn’t be the winner because I will eat them all and the 50 lbs that I want to lose will be impossible! But oh well…. I need the comfort food right now πŸ™‚ I like them so many ways but my favorite way to bake them is just regular ol’ crescent style with meat and potatoes along side. Hope I win!

    I am truly a “purist” when it comes to my crescents. I LOVE them plain (no butter, no jam, no nothin’) They are melt in your mouth good by themselves. But…. I sure have enjoyed reading all of the yummy choices above! πŸ™‚ Gives me some new ideas…. thanks to all!

  11. I like to eat them the normal way like rolls – but my kids LOVE rolls and hot dogs, so I’ll wrap the hot dogs in crescents and they eat em all up in no time. I also like the pizza in a crescent. It looks yummy!

  12. I love mixing cream cheese and powdered sugar to make a filling and then layering the crescent roll dough. I usually do a layer of dough, a layer of cream cheese filling, then another layer of dough and a layer of struesel topping (brown sugar, butter and flour). (this is in an 8×8 pan. Very Very yummy and no need for frosting.

    Love to use Pillsbury Crescent Rolls to make a great veggie pizza. Spread the flattened and baked dough with a seasoned cream cheese mixture and top with chopped fresh vegies of your choice and plenty of cheese. Yum!

  14. I make Antipasto Squares. One roll of crescents spread on the bottom of an 8×13 pan. Layer with your favorite Italian meats and cheeses…top with some sliced roasted red peppers and brush with egg wash. Put another roll of crescents on the top, brush with more egg wash and bake at 375degrees.
    When cool, cut into squares…great for a Superbowl party.

  15. My favorite way is plain. However, easy empanadas are yummy too. Fill a triangle with cooked seasoned beef and cheese. Place another triangle on top and seal. Bake in the oven until the crescent rolls are golden.

  16. We like to wrap things in our crescent rolls…hot dogs, sandwich meat, cheese, veggies. My favorite, though, is left over ham, onion, mushroom, and swiss cheese…mmmm!

  17. My favorite: surrounding a wheel of brie and apricot jam/jelly and baked. Then dipping apples in that. OMG. My favorite homemade party appetizer πŸ™‚

    I love crescent rolls just about any way you could possibly cook them, but I must say one of my favorites is to use them as a crust for Chicken, Beef, or Turkey pie.

  19. We love these things… I really like to fill them with a few chocolate chips and sprinkle some sugar on them… what a fast warm desert. We have also added peanutbutter with the chocolate and some cherry pie filling with powdered sugar sprinkled on, just as the come out of the oven!!

  20. I like to use it for the crust on a veggie pizza ~ The sauce is a mixture of cream cheese and sour cream with minced onion and dill, and then on top of that, raw cut up veggies and shredded cheddar.

    My family has always liked crescent rolls wrapped around hotdogs. Over Christmas we made a stromboli with them. I rolled the crescent rolls into a rectangle, filled the center with barbequed chicken, Mozerella cheese and pineapple. The folded the edges in to make a top crust. Very interesting to read everyone else’s favorites.

    I like Ham ‘N Eggs Brunch Braid. Definitely an impressive way to serve scrambled eggs! The cream cheese keeps the eggs moist inside a golden crust. Plus the kids love to do the braiding part.

  23. One of my favorite ways to make/eat crescent rolls is just to slice them up in long strips, douse them in a butter/cinnamon/sugar mixture, twist them up and have perfectly EASY “CinnaStix”. So good!

  26. One of my favorite crescent roll appetizers is Bacon Cream Cheese Crescents — essentially mix together cream cheese, some crumbled bacon, and chives, spread it on the crescent rolls, cut the triangles in half and roll them up. They are always a hit.

    We call them “Chicken Roll Ups”, basically shredded chicken, butter, cream cheese, and seasonings, mixed together. Then rolled up in a crescent roll.

  28. I love using stuffing them with chicken and a sour cream gravy and then baking them and smothering them with more of the gravy like a biscuits and gravy but with chicken. I also love using them to make delish orange rolls complete with a wonderful orange icing! hits the spot! Not too sweet yet satisfies the sweet tooth in me!

    I have this recipes for a chicken broccoli casserole type thing that has a layer of crescent rolls along the bottom, then the chicken/broccoli mixture, then more crescent rolls in a lattice on top. It’s really yummy. I think it came from a Taste of Home magazine.

    I love to make veggie pizza with crescent rolls as the base, cream cheese and ranch mix combined and spread on top, and then topped with cauliflower, broccoli, carrot and red pepper.

  31. One of my husband’s friends makes this wonderful spin-off of a cheesecake using cresent rolls. It’s called sopapilla cheescake and has a filling of cream cheese and cinnamon between layers of cresent rolls. It’s pretty good!

    I love making little apple or cherry tarts, by placing crescent rolls in greased cupcake pans. Top with apple pie filling sprinkled with cinnamon or cherry pie filling. Fold ends over and bake until golden brown. Yummy topped with ice cream, too!

    I love them for my sausage cresent roll bake. Roll out the cresent rolls in a 8×10 dish and seal up the perforations. then it’s topped with eggs, sausage, cheese and some great seasonings and baked! Yum!!

    Chicken rollups or chicken pillows as my kids like to call them. Shredded chicken mixed with cream cheese and rolled into crescent rolls, and then rolled in butter and bread crumbs. So good!

  39. My favorite is our family’s tradition to make breakfast pizza on christmas morning and the crescent rolls serve as the crust. So delicious. Piled high with eggs, cheese, hashbrown’s and sausage. Eaten with a little salsa! Mmmm..

  41. My Favorite Crescent Recipe: Sausage Squares.
    Roll out Crescents, place half of Crescents on a cookie sheet, finger press perforations to seal, mix softened cream cheese & cooked sausage & spread on top of Crescents, place the remaining Crescents on top of the mixture & seal perforations. Bake Crescents as directed. Yum!

    Chicken and Cheese Rolls! Roll rotisserie chicken with sharp cheddar cheese (preferably VERMONT cheddar)in a casserole dish and top with cream of your choice soup and bake…mmm deliciously bad

    This is my favorite, favorite, favorite application for crescent rolls- the easiest cinnamon buns ever! πŸ˜€

    Best Ever, Easiest Cinnamon Buns

    1 package Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1/2 stick butter

    Combine cinnamon and sugar. Unroll crescent rolls and press seams together to make a sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll crescent rolls back up (into a log), and put the remaining cinnamon sugar in a bowl or ziploc bag. Cut the crescents into 10 cinnamon rolls. Add to cinnamon sugar and toss to coat all over. Melt butter and combine with brown sugar. Place cinnamon rolls in a pie plate and top with butter/brown sugar mixture. Bake for 20 mins at 350.

    Favorite Glaze

    1 cup confectioners’ sugar
    1 tablespoon butter
    2 tablespoons milk

    Heat the butter and milk together till the butter melts. Whisk into the sugar.

    I love to make the Pampered Chef recipes for cinnamon rolls using crescent rolls. So good and so much better than the refrigerated cinnamon rolls.

  48. Chicken Bundles – grilled, cubed chicken added to softened cream cheese, a bit of milk, and onion. Then bundle chicken mixture up in a roll, top with bread crumbs and bake. Yumm. My 19 yr old son’s favorite!

    I like to use them for pot pie crust. I also like to use them to make chocolate pastries. I put a piece of semi-sweet chocolate in the center, roll them up, brush them with beaten egg, sprinkle them with sugar, and bake as directed.

    My favorite “meal” way to use crescent rolls is with a shredded chicken, cream cheese, & green onion mixture…then roll the roll in butter and italian bread crumbs. Bake and cover with a cream of chicken gravy. YUM. As for dessert, I make apple dumplings with the crescent rolls and they are very tasty.

  53. One of my favorite ways to use crescent rolls is to make a yummy chicken salad with grapes, pecans, cream cheese, dill, etc., and stuff them. I leave 2 triangles together so that its more like a rectangle, place the chicken salad in the center, fold up the corners and pinch together. Brush some melted butter on top and sprinkle with some parmesean cheese, and bake. SOO super yummy!! I get soo many compliments on this dish. πŸ™‚

    Pillsbury Crescent Rolls tend to be great on their own, but they can also be crimped and filled with pie filling and baked for a sweet treat!

  56. I love to use crescent rolls when cooking. One of my favorite dinners is made with crescent rolls. We call the chicken popovers. They are stuffed with chicken, cream cheese, and yummy spices. mmmm now i want to make this for dinner πŸ™‚

    I make a yummy danish cups. Line a muffin tin with a cresecnt roll. then fill with a sweet cram cheese mixture and top with any kins of jam filling. I like to use raspberry preserves. Then bake for 15min. And drizzle with a glaze.

    I use Pillsbury Crescent rolls all the time. I love them for the PC Chicken Club ring recipe, pigs in a blanket, using them as the crust for a stuffed breakfast bread. My daughter absolutely loves using them with the Hershey Cinnamon chips rolls up inside and then a drizzle on top. Oh and veggie pizza. I could go on and on.

    My recipe with crescent rolls, press on bottom of 9×13 pan
    sealing perforations together, sprinkle 2 cups monterey jack cheese over rolls. Combine 4 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 1/2tsp. oregango and few shakes of pepper, pour over cheese and bake 400 for 18 to 20 minutes, if using glass dish decrease temp to 375, I have added cooked bacon to the eggs or ham. Delicious and is all food for breakfast, or Dinner!!! enjoy

  73. Our favorite is bacon onion bites… Spread sour cream on unbaked rolls, then sprinkle with crumbled bacon and minced dried onion. Roll up and bake.

    These were a hit at our Christmas party this year!

  78. We make chicken pockets. Low fat cream cheese, corn, peas, broccoli, green onions and chicken all stuffed into little squares. Topped with Parmesan cheese, it’s lovely!

    I love to make chicken roll-ups with them (stuff with cream cheese, spices, bell pepper, onion, chicken and whatever else sounds good)! I made them last night and my 3 year-old ate 2 – that’s how delicious they are. (They were the big & flaky, too.)

    Besides using them with dinner, my kids and I like to make cinnamon twists. Tear the crescents like you normally do, but pull them a bit loner and twist them. Melt some butter, dip the uncooked dough in the butter, then a cinnanom & sugar mixture. Cook as directed on the tube, they are very good!!

  85. I lay them out flat, fill with chopped green onion, shredded cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and one asparagus spear, then roll up and bake according to the directions on the package. Great appetizer and the little asparagus sticking out the sides makes them cute!

    I love to make cream cheese chicken crescent rolls. I mix cream cheese, butter, and shredded chicken together. Then I wrap some of the mixture in a crescent roll, slather some butter on top, and bake. Oh and sometimes I roll crushed crackers on top. It is sooooo good.

  89. I can not believe someone else (comment 7) actually makes my taco ring recipe (okay its not mine) – but in my family I’m know for it. Only I press the triangles in crushed tortilla chips before rolling it up and make it spicy. We call it the Ring of Fire!

    I use crescent rolls in some many recipes! Here is one of my favorites:

    Vegetable Pizza

    2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
    1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
    1 cup mayonnaise
    1 cup sour cream
    1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
    Veggies of choice

    Veggies I used were:
    carrots, shredded
    cucumber, diced
    sweet red bell pepper, diced
    green onions, diced
    radishes, thinly sliced
    black olives
    rainbow slaw mix from the store (broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, which was all pre-shredded)

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

    Roll out crescent rolls onto large non-stick baking sheet. Stretch and flatten to form rectangular shape on sheet.

    Bake 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool.

    In medium size mixing bowl, mix ranch dressing mix, mayonnaise, sour cream, and cream cheese until well blended. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust. Arrange vegetables over the top of the crust.

    Refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Fun! My favorite recipe is to mix cream cheese, powered sugar and almond extract then spread a glob in the middle of the dough triangle. Add a small glob of raspberry jam and roll up. Bake and sprinkle with powered sugar. Mmm…

  95. Oh my gosh! Your pumpkin Cresecent rolls look amazing! I just bought a pack of Crescents yesterday and am so trying this! Thanks for sharing! My favorite crescent recipe… geez, I use them for everything! But my top 3 are:

    1. Bacon creme cheese bites
    2. Cinnamon sugar roll ups (Spread on butter, sprinkle cinamon and sugar crunchies (I use Pampered Chef) roll, slice, bake
    3. Chicken tortilla wheel

    When I was a kid, we’d roll them up with the caramel sheets used for wrapping apples…I haven’t made these in forever, but just thinking about them makes me smile.

  99. My favorite involves a small baking pan, top and bottom layers of crescent roll dough and a middle layer of a cream cheese, egg, sugar mixture and the top sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and baked to a lovely golden brown then cut into squares. Yum!

  104. I like to make chicken pillows.

    You use chicken,cream cheese,green onions, seasoned salt and lemon juice to make the yummy filling. Then you place it in to two crescent rolls and bake it. After it is done you put a cream of chicken sauce over it. It is fabulous!

  105. I have an AMAZING recipe that uses crescent rolls to make an Apple Dumpling style casserole. Using two cans of crescent rolls you fold a crescent roll around two slices of apples and lay them out in a 9/13 pan. Next you combine butter, brown sugar and vanilla in saucepan to boiling. Pour over the apple pockets and then open a can of Mountain Dew soda and pour it over the top. Bake until tops of rolls are browned and liguid is bubbly. This is incredibly addicting! LOVE IT!

    Our family favorite is to mix Chicken, mushrooms, onions and cream cheese inside a crescent roll pocket. dip in butter and bread crumbs and bake. Cover with cream of chicken soup mixed with milk – love love those crescent rolls!

    I use crescent rolls to make Poor Man’s Beef Wellington.
    2 cans crescent rolls
    1 lb hamburger meat
    1 14oz. can tomato sauce
    1 diced bell pepper
    1 diced onion
    grated cheddar cheese (amount to your liking)
    salt/pepper to taste

    1. Brown hamburger meat with onion and pepper. Add sauce and spices.
    2. Make a large rectangle with the crescent rolls, making sure to seal the edges well.
    3. Put all of meat mixture on dough. Sprinkle with cheese.
    4. Bring the edges of the dough up and around the meat, sealing on top.
    5. Bake according to package directions.
    6. Allow to cool slightly.
    7. Cut and serve!

  110. I always have one or two rolls of Pillsbury crescents in the fridge. I use them as crust for my veggie and dessert pizzas, meat filled ronzos, ‘pigs in a blanket’ little quiche’….. so many uses!

  112. I just recently made a new recipe using Crescent Rolls. They’re called Savory Parmesan Bites. They have cream cheese, roasted red peppers and parmesan enveloped in a crescent roll!! Soo yummy! And they’re really versatile too..you can make just about any type you want!

    I use them too so many differnt ways. I like cinnamon roll type desserts,fried pies,chicken brunch ring with the crescent rolls and the flaky sheets are great for different appetizers or topping for pot pies.

  114. I love making chocolate crescents. You just place chocolate chips in the middle of the crescent roll and then roll them up and bake them. Ooey gooey chocolate!

    My favorite crescent roll recipe is called “Cheesy Chicken Rolls” and was what my parents would make every time I would bring friends home to visit from college. Basically, you wrap up a chicken and cheese mixture in each crescent roll, then while they are baking, make a sauce from cream of chicken soup, milk, and more cheese. When the crescent rolls are mostly done, pour the sauce over them and continue baking until the sauce is nice and bubbly. This is the best comfort food! YUM! πŸ™‚

  121. I use crescent rolls in so many ways. I love to make Chicken pockets with them, I also make a loaf type lasagna with the crescent rolls on the outside. My favorite is the Pioneer Woman apple dumplings.

    Taco Ring, Lay out the crescent rolls in a circle and fill with seasoned ground beef. Then roll the dough up over the meat so it makes a ring. Then bake until golden brown. Top with your favorite topping. It is so yummy!

    Just plain crescent rolls for me. Pillsbury has such a yummy butter flavor without being greasy, so I love them in anything. The kids, too. they call them “Penguin Rolls,” because when you roll them up they really do look like penguins!

    I like to fill my crescent rolls with a chicken/cream cheese mixture and turn it into a little filled rolled. Served with mashed potatoes and gravy. Yum!

  130. marshmallow puffs! Just take one marshmallow, dip in melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar. Then wrap it around half a triangle of the crescent roll dough and bake in a mini muffin tin. The marshmallow melts creating a deliciously gooey mixture!
