We had free range chickens when I was growing up. Well, they had the run of the farm and returned to the coop for the night. Gathering eggs was so funny!

Bright gold yolks make wonderful noodles.

  2. Picking eggs from chicken coups is amazing. When I was younger I had the opportunity to pick fresh eggs from my Mennonite Babysitter’s chicken coup. It was amazing! What a breath of fresh air! (if you can call it that! haha)

  3. My favorite part was when Rocco showed Marisa how to properly throw the salt onto the pasta. I never knew there was a β€œcorrect” way to do that!

  4. Pam Shank

I thought the time in the chicken coop was hysterical. I lived on a farm for a few years and could totally see this!

  5. Charity

I like Marrissa freaking out at the chicken coop (that would be me too), but how the two boys loved it. πŸ˜›

  6. Ginny Fisher

I loved this one! These guys are so funny! I can’t believe Marissa chickened out (pun intended) on the egg retrieval. Good sports. Good fun πŸ™‚

  7. I loved the chickens in the rafters and the fear of being pooped on! Also, Lasagna is my very favorite. The bechamel is making my mouth water!

  8. kacie

I LOVED when they were trying to find the “egg authority” and they aren’t sure if that’s a person, or a chicken or what… great! Also how Marisa says she isn’t wearing her best chicken outfit. So refreshing how Paulo treats his chickens, especially after watching food inc.

  9. I know what I want for dinner! That lasagna looked heavenly, and my favorite part was when they were collecting the eggs, kinda funny to watch the chickens flying at their heads.

  10. Lindsay Allen

Ok, I’m officially going to have to break out the 9×13 and make me some lasagna!! Wow.

  11. Mary

Love that the chairs where they made the pasta have sheep-skin rugs on them. I also love to see how they put the lasagna together. Who knew that better eggs would make better pasta?

  12. I am completely agreeing with the majority of people here, them in the coop collecting the eggs was so funny! Also thought the demonstration on how to properly salt a dish was cute πŸ™‚

  13. Kara

I don’t blame her for fearing the coop – the chickens were all over the place! I found the technique for the fresh pasta dough to be my favorite part – they cracked the egg into the flour on the counter!

  14. I love that Marissa did NOT wear the right “chicken collecting outfit” That is CLASSIC!!!!

Oh, please, I wanna go! How fun in the world is this gonna be!

  15. Denise

AHH … Fresh Farm Eggs! I’m not so sure about going into the chicken coup, but those eggs would make a difference.

  16. Melissa

I’m with Marissa, I would have definitely sat that one out! Not a big bird fan πŸ˜‰ but it was quite hilarious! I seriously wanted to taste that lasagna! It looked fabulous!!!

  17. Lindsay

I like how they were running around trying to catch the chickens and how she had a fear of the chicken coop. They did a 12 egg recipe for dinner–lasagna.

  18. Donna

My favorite part of the video was definitely while they were collecting the eggs. Lots of fun to watch.

And that Paulo is a cutie. When he comes out in the beginning it looks like he’s walking through spaghetti with all the things hanging down from the top of that door.

Now I’m very hungry. Thanks for the opportunity,

  19. We had chickens when I was growing up, so the scene where they were gathering eggs brought back some great memories.

  20. Oh my heck, stil dying over here! How cool would this be?
Paolo was adorable and the lasagna looked delicious.
I don’t think I could be in a little coop with chickens flying around, either.

  21. Well, my favorite was them collecting the eggs- I would have NOT wanted to go in there! Afraid of chickens? Maybe!

    Man, that lasagna looked wonderful!

  22. Valery Bunnell

When they were collecting the eggs was pretty hilarious. That fresh pasta dough with fresh eggs made me hungry.

  23. Heather Cole

Gathering eggs from a chicken coop is always an adventure, whether you’re Roco DeSpirito or not! I enjoyed that scene quite a bit πŸ™‚

  24. I would have to agree with the previous entries! I love Marisa! She is just too cute. I really like how they bring the egg out with their coffee for them to figure out

  25. Beverly

First off, I always look in the background of these videos to see the bystanders staring at what is obvious a production crew filming….I’d be gawking too! Loved the guy at the coffee place who just happened to know the “egg guy”. Rocco is hot. Cortez is funny. Marissa is adorable!

  26. I am still jumping up and down. Today’s video is awesome. Getting to revisit a farm with chickens, eggs, and the coups made this country girl smile!

I have learned so much about the food; it’s incredible! I also just loved the cafe scene. Getting to sit outdoors at the cafes when I was there was a favorite, too.

  27. I loved the part where they went to Paolo’s farm! I follow a strict vegan diet for the most part because I am strongly opposed to animal ethics in the United States on factory farms, so it was incredible to see that Paolo’s farm has cage free chickens that still have their beaks and legs, that have the freedom to come and go at will, and that get fed a nice grain mix. I wish that happened in the US!

  28. Lisa

“you know when you hear that name– it says says ‘egg guy'” amazing….these videos are adorable.

  29. Watching them try to collect the eggs int he chicken coup was hysterical! I guarantee, I’d be the girl outside waiting for the guys to get them all too!
I also love the way Rocco throws his salt on the lasagna, that was cool. πŸ™‚

  30. I love that the guy right behind them has all the info they need! Plant? Methinks, yes! Paulo’s facial hair and glasses rock!

  31. Connie

I loved the egg collection at the chicken coup- I can relate with Marisa as I am afraid of birds as well πŸ™‚
