So, I’ve officially hung up my dental hygiene instruments for a while. I’ve been working part time at my office for the last 7 years and have really enjoyed it. My hubby and I decided this was a good time to take a little break while the boys are young and crazy, but I’m hoping to do some temp work for my office from time to time. So, as a goodbye for now, I brought a big plate of these wicked brownies for all to enjoy.
This is such a fun recipe, it is similar to one I created f0r the Pillsbury Bake-off a couple years ago, and even though it wasn’t chosen for the cook-off, they are a hit wherever I take them. I mean, what’s not to love about brownies lathered in caramel sauce and rice crispy treats drizzled with silky chocolate!!?? Take a big plate of these to your next party and watch your family and friends drool!
These are so quick and easy to whip up. Make a batch, save a couple for yourself and your family then share the rest. They are too deadly to keep in the house!Crispy Caramel Brownie Treats
1 brownie mix of choice 9×13 size
¾ Cup caramel ice cream topping
2 Tablespoons butter
3 ½ Cups rice crispy cereal
2 Tablespoons coconut oil (you can also use heavy cream)
12 large brownies

I think I gained 5 lbs just looking at this dessert. Looks amazing…thank you for posting.
I already bookmarked your Peanut Butter Cheesecake Bars to make my husband for his birthday in September…sounds right up his alley!
These would be waayy too dangerous for me to keep around the house. I would eat them all.
Congrats on being mentioned in the blogs. The peanut butter sandwich looks really good.
Do dentists dare to eat a treat such as this?
I drool everytime I see your brownies Jenny. I bet your boys show off that their mum is the queen of making brownies.
If these were in my fridge – I would have to hide some for me before they all got devoured!
Those brownies look positively sinful! I know my crew would just devour these!
Hi Lisa,
Funny, you never know what Pillsbury is looking for from year to year!
Hi Jamie!
Me too! Enjoy the Peanut Butter Cheesecake Bars!
Hi Emiline,
Yes, our dental office always had treats around!
Thanks Jenna,
Luckily I only keep a few brownies around, so my boys just get a little square!
Thanks Katherine!
Those look divine. I love playing around with brownies and with rice crispy treats, never thought of putting the two together though.
YUM!
Jenny,
When you make these scrumptious desserts, how do you keep yourself from eating the whole pan? or, are you able to eat what you want and still look great?
emily
Those look so yummy-all kinds of good flavors and textures going on. Congrats on all the publicity! You deserve every good thing.
oh my heavens, I will be making these VERY soon.
I would demand a recount! There is no way these could NOT have won! Another hit I can’t wait to make! These are going in today’s Daily DIY as well. Right up top so everyone can salivate with me. =)
Oh my, that looks great! What a fun idea! I bet this is one that your boys wouldn’t say only YOU would eat! lol
I just started my diet on Monday. Now I may go back off! These look sooooo yummy!
I’m afraid I could probably eat the whole pan of these!! Have fun being a complete SAHM. I’m sure you’ll still stay super busy!
As usual things look amazing! Congrats on reliquishing the prophy wheel! I think it is fantastic and look forward to that very same day.
I am literally sitting here praying that I have everything that I need to make those brownies. I have such a serious chocolate craving right now. Your pics are always so good! What was wrong with those Pillsbury people — they just wanted to eat all those instead of saving them for judging!!
Enjoy that extra time with your little guys!
Those brownie treats look truly decadent… I’m drooling right now! If they are as good as they look, I can’t imagine why they didn’t win the bake-off!
Your colleagues are going to miss you I think! These look naughty – but what the heck!
Oh my…these look so tasty. What a great combo!
your absolutely right what’s not to love!! the soft brownie , the cruchy rice krispies and chocolate !! you are very creative!!

Combining rice crispy treats and brownies is a great idea!
Yum yum yum! I agree that Pillsbury should have selected these for the bake-off….they look amazing! Enjoy your time away from work, and I bet your coworkers will miss all the delicious treats you bake!
I would sooooo have to get those out of the house! I would eat the whole pan!!!Thanks for your comments today. Yeah..the Apple Cake would have been a great Weight Watcher item..but eating half of it doesnt count! Yeah..I ate half of it! SAD!
Uh, wow. You are killing me with this dessert! I am going to have to make these for my husband’s office or something so I can have a “taste”!!

two of my favorite quick and easy treats – brownies and rice krispy treats
mmmmm!
Oh. My. YUMMM! These look quite delicious. I have been doing my best to stay away from sweets this summer but it’s not working very well!!
Ummm, those just look totally sinful!!!
So i made these, and when i added the cream to the chocolate topping it just thickened up and wouldnt melt back down to be able to pour over the top… any suggestions?
Hi Millie,
Your chocolate may not have been warm enough. If the chocolate doesn’t come together when adding the cream, try adding a little more until it becomes smooth. When you add more fat to the chocolate it will smooth out. Hope this helps. Sometimes after I stir the cream in, I will microwave it for an additional 15 seconds or so just so it is warmer. Good luck!
Those sound delicious and so easy. I just might have to try those.
THESE ARE WONDERFUL!!! I made them last weekend and everyone who ate them, loved them!! I kept a few at home and gave the rest away!
