These easy chicken taquitos in the air fryer are just what your busy weeknights need! They’re so quick to put together and take under 10 minutes to cook in the air fryer. I love to use rotisserie chicken I’ve shredded or even canned chicken that I stock up with from Costco. The chicken is mixed with salsa, sour cream and lots of cheese to make a homemade crispy taquito that is hard to resist!

Here are the simple ingredients you’ll need to make crispy homemade air fryer taquitos at home!
- Cooked Chicken– I like to use rotisserie chicken I’ve shredded or even the canned chicken you can find at Costco.
- Shredded Cheese– Use any variety of cheese you like. I used a Mexican blend for my taquitos.
- Prepared Salsa- A mild salsa works great. Use your favorite brand of salsa.
- sour cream– Use full fat sour cream for best results.
- Salt– I typically use a kosher salt for my recipes.
- Pepper– Use freshly cracked black pepper for best results.

How To Make Air Fryer Taquitos
Preheat. Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F.
Tortillas. Stack tortillas onto a plate and set aside.
Prepare Chicken Filling. Place chicken, cheese, salsa, sour cream, salt and pepper into a large mixing bowl. Stir until well combined.
Fill Tortillas. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of chicken mixture onto the center of each tortilla. Roll tightly and place seam side down onto another plate. Continue until all 6 tortillas have been filled with chicken filling.
Spray Taquitos With Cooking Spray. Lightly spray tops of rolled taquitos with cooking spray.
Place Taquitos In Air Fryer. Carefully transfer taquitos into air fryer basket making sure they’re placed in a single layer seam sides down.
Cook. Cook taquitos at 400 degrees F. for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and toasted.
Transfer To Serving Plate. Remove taquitos with long tongs onto a serving plate. Top with sour cream and salsa if desired and garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.

Storage Instructions.
Refrigerate. Store any leftover taquitos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat. Reheat taquitos in the air fryer. Cook at 400 degrees F. for 3-4 minutes until crisp and hot.
Freezer Instructions.
Place leftover taquitos seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet in the freezer for a couple hours until mostly frozen. Remove taquitos and place in a freezer safe bag or airtight container and freezer for up to 3 months.
To reheat frozen taquitos, cook in air fryer at 400 degrees F. for 5-6 minutes until crisp and hot.
