Who knew homemade brownies were so delicious made in the air fryer?! I had no idea until I tried it out today. I’m telling you, they have perfectly crisp edges and ooey gooey centers just like what you look for in a great brownie. You’ll want to check the dimensions of your air fryer to determine the size of pan you can use. I chose a 6 inch cake pan for my air fryer.

What You’ll Need
You’ll need basic brownie ingredients for this air fryer recipe, plus any fun toppings you want to add like chopped cookies and candy bars. See the recipe card located at the bottom of this post for full instructions and details.
- Granulated Sugar– This fine white sugar adds sweetness to the brownies.
- Canola Oil– Canola oil is part of the wet ingredients.
- Egg- For Consistency, I use large eggs in my cooking and baking.
- Vanilla- For best results use pure vanilla extract.
- All-Purpose Flour– Flour is part of the dry ingredients.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder– Cocoa powder gives the brownies that rice cocoa flavor.
- Salt– Just a touch of salt is needed in the recipe.
- Chocolate Chunks (optional)- I chop my own chocolate chunks from the block of chocolate from Trader Joe’s.
- Oreos (optional)- I crushed about 3 full Oreo Cookies and topped them over the brownies before baking them.
How To Make Air Fryer Brownies
Combine Wet Ingredients. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine the sugar and oil until well combined. Add egg and vanilla stirring until completely combined.
Dry Ingredients. Pour in flour, salt and cocoa powder to mixing bowl, stirring until well combined.
Add Chocolate Chunks. Add chocolate chunks to brownie batter, stirring just until combined.
Preheat Air Fryer to 330 Degrees F.
Transfer Brownie Batter To Pan. With a spoon or rubber spatula, transfer brownie batter to a 6 inch cake pan that’s been lined with parchment paper. Place into air fryer.
Cook Brownies. Cook brownies in air fryer at 330 degrees F. for 14-17 minutes or until toothpick comes mostly clean when poked in center of brownies.
Remove From Air Fryer And Cool. Remove and let cool for 30 minutes before cutting.
Recipe Tips For Success
- Measure your air fryer basket to see what size pan you need for your brownies.
- You can use small cake pans round or square and even ramekins. You can also use silicone baking cups.
- Let the brownies cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting.
- Use a plastic knife to cut brownies for non stick easy cutting.
- For the round pan, I cut off the 4 round edges leaving a square in the middle and then cut 4 squares. Save the round edge pieces too. They’re all delicious!
Cutting Squares From Round Pan. To get squares when using a round pan, simply cut off the round edges of 4 sides leaving a square shape. Cut 4 squares and serve! Save those round pieces too, my kids gobbled those up.
How To Serve Air Fryer Brownies
Brownies are great for any dessert party, family party, bake sale….you name it, everyone loves brownies. Make them up to a day in advance too! You can serve them room temperature, cold and warmed up with your favorite ice cream on top. Always a treat!
Storage Instructions
Room Temperature. Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container that can be left room temperature for up to 2 days.
Refrigerate. Store any leftover brownies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Freezer Instructions. Place leftover brownies in an airtight container or freezer safe bag in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw to room temperature before enjoying.
