    Great giveaway! I think I missed the noon cutoff, but I thought I’d still share my favorite.
    I love LOVE this soup called Laksa Lemak? I get it at this Malaysian place, and it’s awesome. I’ve googled the recipe a few times and it’s a little over my head, and it’s got some hard to get ingredients when you live in the sticks like I do…but basically it’s a chicken soup, kinda spicy, w/coconut milk in it too I think.
    It’s a cure all soup. Headache, eat the soup. Cramps? eat the soup. Seriously…awesome awesome stuff!!

    This is my “latest” favoite.

    Chicken Soup with Jasmine Rice and Ginger
    SERVES: 4
    1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon jasmine rice, rinsed
    4 cups water
    One 3-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
    3 cups chicken broth
    1 tablespoon Asian fish sauce or soy sauce
    Pinch each of salt and sugar (optional)
    1/2 cup shredded cooked chicken
    2 scallions, thinly sliced crosswise
    2 tablespoons coarsely chopped cilantro

    In a medium saucepan, cover the rice with the water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the rice is tender and porridgelike, about 25 minutes.
    Meanwhile, cut the piece of ginger into slivers: Thinly slice the ginger crosswise; stack the slices, removing the bottom rounded slice, so the stack is stable and easy to work with; cut the slices lengthwise into thin slivers.
    Add the chicken stock, fish sauce, salt and sugar to the rice, bring to a simmer and continue cooking over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in half of the ginger and simmer for 10 minutes longer.
    Ladle the soup into shallow bowls, garnish with the shredded chicken, sliced scallions, chopped cilantro and the remaining slivered ginger and serve.
    MAKE AHEAD The recipe can be made through Step 3 and refrigerated overnight. When reheating, add extra stock to adjust the consistency.

    My favorite soup is clam chowder in a bread bowl but it has to be fresh clams, every-time i eat it i can picture myself sitting in a wooden chair overlooking the oregon beach with the cloudy grey sky’s watching the massive waves hitting the enormous rocks and I can hear the noisy sea lions barking on the shore, I can smell the combination of the sea salt and the redwood trees around me. But it’s hard to get that feeling in Arizona 🙂

  77. The Healthy Hostess

    One of my favorite soups is Turkey Quinoa Chili
    Here is what I used:

    * 99 % extra lean ground turkey
    * 1 Darn good chili mix + 7 c. water it calls for
    * chili powder
    * cumin
    * salt and pepper
    * 1 can diced tomatoes
    * 1 can tomato paste
    * 1 can black beans
    * 1 c. roasted corn
    * 1 c. cooked quinoa

    Cook the Darn Good Chili mix as directed, with 1 can tomato paste and water. Then add rest of the ingredients. Also, I cooked the turkey in chili powder and cumin to give the chili extra flavor. Once the chili mix had cooked, I added the rest of the ingredients! It was amazing and I can’t wait to make it again!

    You go girl! What a fun contest!

    My favorite soup I actually got from you. You did a recipe for Chicken Pot Pie with Puff Pastry. I didn’t have any puff pastry so I decided to make the filling a little thinner and make it into a soup and I had a baguette of crusty bread so I melted olive oil, butter and garlic salt in a skillet and tore up the baguette and toasted them and served them over the soup. It’s delicious! Thanks for the recipe.

    I love a good tortilla soup! I can’t wait for it to be soup weather here in AZ – I can’t believe it’s still in the 90s!!! Just a quick comment about the potty training – my oldest was trained at 3 yrs 3 mos and my twins were trained at 3 1/2 years old (all boys). My personal opinion is when they’re ready, they’re ready and it’s a much faster process. If you start too early, you end up potty training for a long time. Don’t worry, he won’t go to college in diapers! 🙂 Good luck! lucycioe at cox dot net

    Thanks for sharing your AMAZING skills!!

    My favorite soup is Split Pea…Just kidding…

    Being born in AZ and close to the border, I’ll have to go with a Chicken posole garnished with cabbage, onion and lime.

  238. Kuckie

    Oooooo, how fun! And what great giveaways! My favorite soup can be found at a diner here in my neck of the woods…its called Roasted Creole Tomato…and it is TO DIE FOR!! They serve it with these hot buttered rolls that melt in your mouth…I could honestly lick the bowl clean! (But really, no one wants to see that, do they????) ;0)

    My favorite soup is probably Minestrone, but I’m a sucker for this soup my grandma used to make that was a beef broth base with cabbage and some big, hearty meatballs. Yum!

    My favorite soup is definitely potato. I love when my mom makes it. I will have to hit her up some and have her show me how to do it myself since I have bravely entered into the “cooking world.” Love your blog! I have made your chocolate chip oreo cookies and they were a hit. Will be making more of your recipes in the future.

  249. Patti

    I was on a cruise and was served a strawberry soup that tasted so devine I asked for seconds! It was like drinking a melted strawberry shake.
    However, when cooler weather comes around, I love homemade chicken soup with dumplings.

  250. Ruby (Mouth)

    My mother makes a Wild Rice Chicken soup that is sooo good. It has a cream cheese broth and is extremely thick and scrumptious.

  251. Wonderful World of Weiners

    My husband makes a super secret cream of broccoli soup that is to die for. It is simply amazing!

  252. Becky S.

    I love your blog! I’ve tried so many of your recipes and they’ve been well-received at my house.

    My favorites are chicken tortilla soup from Chili’s, and clam chowder (in a bread bowl is the best!). You are so sweet to do a giveaway–you’re already giving away all your incredible recipes. Thank you for being such an inspiration!

    Fun! My favorite soup happens to be served at Flemings steak house. It’s a seafood chowder. It has shrimp, scallops, and lobster. It’s super yummy. I also love clam chowder!

  255. Claire

    I LOVE soup! Probably vegetable of any form is my favorite soup. However, I had a chicken “chili” soup that was SO good. I’d love to find that recipe but haven’t found it yet.

    My favorite soup, especially this time of year, is white chili. The kids call it ghost chili. I have been lurking on your site for quite some time now and I just wanted to say that it is great! I love it. By the way, my son was in diapers until he was four and my oh my, I know where you are coming from. Don’t feel pressured, I bet he’ll be easier to train at an older age anyway. Good luck to ya!

  258. mom2four

    I just started following your blog and I just love your recipes! Soup sounds really good right about now! My favorite would definitely have to be potato with cream cheese with corn chowder being a close second.

  259. Suzy Q

    My favorite soup right now is a beef and lentil soup. Add in a lot of veggies, and sometimes pasta wheels for my kids…yummy!

    I love soups, so I look forward to some good ideas from your posts!

  264. Kayla Hewitt

    I’ve been following your blog for a while now but haven’t commented until now. How could I resist the prizes? I love potato soup (creamy with cheese). It’s probably the least healthy soup ever, but it is so good and perfect on a cold day! I love your recipes. I’ve bookmarked several to try. Keep them coming!

  265. Brooks

    OH! I love Chicken Corn Chowder!
    Sara is right! Those are some great giveaways!
    Can’t wait to see what soups you chose to post!

  266. Sara

    Wow! Those are some great giveaways, Jenny!

    My favorite soup is without a doubt Chicken Tortilla! However, I’m not a fan of the broth-y chicken tortilla soup, I love the thick kind with lots of delicious ingredients (corn, black beans, peppers, etc.). Yummy!
