Pumpkin shortbread! I’ve been moving and haven’t been able to bake at all, so I’ve been missing out on all the seasonal pumpkin fun.

  2. John

My wife just discovered that she has Celiac Disease. The first thing I would make with a new KitchenAid mixer is gluten-free versions of her favorite breads.

  3. Donna

Chocolate chip cookie dough. Then stuff the middles w/oreos, nutter butters, & brownie bites. My kids have been eyeing your site with me & are dying to make the oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookie. Yummy

  4. Michelle

Bread! I’ll have to find just the right recipe, but I’ve been practically dreaming about making bread lately.

  5. Sue Welsh

A big batch of homemade whoppie pies….lots of them for all the family and friends. I even search and put them in the wax paper bags just like my grandmother did when I was so young!

  6. Caitlin

I would make anything pumpkin flavored! Cupcakes, bread, muffins, you name it. I’m loving the fall weather and the fall cooking! 🙂

  7. I’d definitely go for bread. Can’t do that right now because my mixer. Well, don’t talk about that. Bread’s heavy and this one’s perfect for it!

  8. Krista

Sugar cookies! No, bread! No, wait! Ummm– meringue! No–my great-grandmother’s seven-minute icing! No…actually, it would be my Latvian Grandma’s ‘pipparkukas’, like German pfefferkuchen, like American gingerbread cookies but spicier and richer and with a snap of flavor and texture what comes from a super-stiff dough that you age for a month. Ohhhh yeah baby. Man garsho pipparkuukas!

  9. Jana

Cookies, no doubt about that. At work I’m known as the Cookie Fairy because I bring cookies for everybody on Mondays. I hope they never find out that I benefit just as much from this… every cookie someone else eats won’t end up on my hips. 😉

  10. Stefani

SO EXCITED about this giveaway! i’ve been dying to make homemade pizza, so i’d definitely use the dough hook to make pizza dough!

  11. Patricia Sowell

The first thing I am going to make is pumpkin bread for the start of my holiday baking. I like to start making it the 1st. of November because every year my list expands. Thanks Patricia

  12. Chad Hancock

I am definitely going to make the oreo and peanut butter brownie cakes you posted a few weeks ago. They are by far the tastiest looking thing I’ve ever seen, but I haven’t been able to make them yet because I don’t have a mixer. 🙁

    Keep up the great work!

  13. Christine

I will definitely make a Japanese-style cheesecake! The recipe requires beating egg whites to form high peaks, so this would save my arm from going numb as it usually does from holding a hand mixer for too long! 😛

  14. Amy K

That most certainly is a beauty! The first thing I would make would be caramel bars, then our family’s favorite fluffy mashed potatoes. Thanks for the chance to win.

  15. Pumpkin streusel cake! I’ve been dying to try making it recently… perhaps it will be a failure, but all the pumpkins in my grocery store are calling to me!

  16. Danielle

My dad has been in and out of hospitals since Feb and very ill forcing him to eat a lot of bad hospital food. The first thing I would make is his favorite lemon meringue pie. He needs a pick me up! And I need to learn to make a good meringue!

    1. debbie arnold

the first thing I would make would be my grandmothers recipe for squash mashed potatoes. yummmm thankyou sooo much

  17. Lindsay

The first thing I would make with this GORGEOUS stand mixer is a batch of my cinnamon rolls. They fill my current 5-quart to the brim, so it would be fun to relish all that extra space!

  18. Nichole

My kitchen helpers (6 children) and I would definitely make a double ( or triple?!) batch of chocolate chip cookies. We would bake half of the cookies and freeze the other half of the dough. We go through cookies quickly at our house. Having cookie dough waiting in the freezer is a big help. My current mixer does not have a big enough bowl for double batches of some things.

  19. wow that is a beautiful mixer 🙂
    I think I would make a pavlova.
I actually have never made one before but if I had a mixer it would be super duper easy 🙂

Then I would just keep on baking just for an excuse to use it, hehe 😀

  20. What a beauty this is. I have to say the first thing I would make would be your Cinnamon Roll Pumpkin Vanilla Sheet Cake. This cake went on my to try list the moment I saw it. It looks wonderful. I want to make this for Halloween for our office luncheon. Thank you for the opportunity. I love your blog, it’s one of my favorites.

  21. Marianne

I would make gluten free bread for my son and many other recipes that are gluten free, maybe pasta??n Thanks for the opportunity!!!

  22. Marie

Cupcakes of course:) I bake every friday for my hubby and the other soldiers he works with we call it cupcake friday:) I would love this it is so PRETTY!

  23. BethAnn

Probably cupcakes, or cookies, or bread, or muffins or all of the above. My current mixer is on its last legs, which stresses me out every time I bake.

  24. I would make FRUIT CAKE!!!!!!! Christmas is less than 60 days away and I can experiment with different flavours and variations

A hand mixer doesn’t do fruit cake any justice. I know this because I broke a hand mixer once trying to mix the fruit. A Big stand mixer such as this would definitely manage the load 😉 And I will send you small fruit cakes if I win 🙂

  25. Katie

I would make your Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Truffle Swirled Cookies – because I’ve made them multiple times now and everybody loves them!

  26. Lisa

oh my god, I was over kitchen aid because they couldn’t handle bread dough and I’m a big bread maker, but way for them to bring their A game. This is amazing. phew, I’m so psyched right now.
I would make my family’s wheat rolls recipe. delicious.

  27. Bonnie

Wow, what a giveaway! So many possibilities for this mixer’s first use 🙂 I think I’d have to make my family’s homemade bread!

  28. Olivia

I would bake a pumpkin spice cake recipe I found…but I need a mixer for it! When you’re 23 and just starting out you dont have all the necessary baking tools!

  29. Venus Leidy

The first thing I would make is a chocolate cake! I enter a special chocolate cake in my county fair every year. I’ve won twice. I try a new recipe every year, and my husband loves to be the “tester”. He insists on testing the recipe often!

  30. Erin F.

I would so make banana bread – this would make my Christmas tradition a much more pleasant experience. I almost bought one last year for my Birthday, but I relinquished my rights as I put the money into my husband’s new soundboard for his guitar instead. He owes me now 🙂

  31. Jenna

A well-mixed batch of cookies. Mine haven’t been the same my old roommate owned our mixer and took it with her when we moved out.

  32. Elizabeth Miracle

most likely the first thing i will make is bread. maybe cinnamon rolls! i would be in heaven with this mixer!!

  33. Lindsay

The first thing I would make would probably be pizza dough, because my family has a tradition of pizza Fridays! Or, if I could wait, I would wait to use it for Christmas cookies with my mom.

  34. Lanna J.

Four years ago when my husband and I got engaged, I registered for one of these babies. Excited, a few weeks later, my registry showed that someone had bought it for us! Showers came and went, the wedding came and went. No mixer. Perhaps it was a mistake, but now every time I see a recipe that suggests the KitchenAid mixer I get a little twinge. So, the first thing I would make would be a celebratory dessert. Perhaps a cream cheese pound cake or deep dish brownies!

  35. Katie Rose

I think that nearly all of my new kitchen things have been first christened with either Chocolate Chip Cookies, or Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. I think it is a safe bet that one of these is what I would make first.

  36. Laura Liss-Tabor

The first thing I would do is demo my holiday cookie recipes on this beautiful new machine. This appliance would make my holiday baking a breeze and I could finally make some bread!

  37. Bethany

My chocolate pie! It used to take me FOREVER with a hand mixer, until I discovered the wonder that is the KitchenAid mixer!

  38. Georgianna

I would make batches and batches of my favorite Christmas cookies! It’s never too early to start celebrating!

  39. Misty L

AHHH!!! What an exciting giveaway! The first thing I will make is your Oreo Fluffer cupcakes for my son’s 3rd birthday! Sugar coma, here we come! =)

  40. Carolyn

I make all the bread that my family eats so my old mixer gets A LOT of use. So the first thing I would make is homemade 100% whole wheat bread. Yum!

  41. Sarah

I think my heart just skipped a beat when I saw this! Gorgeous!

The first thing I would make is a Peanut Butter Cheesecake, for my husband’s birthday.

  42. Christina Balsom

Oh chocolate mousse cake, the five eggs in it need a long beating time ( my arm almost fell off last time I made it).

  43. I can’t even begin to tell you all the wonderful things I’d make. I might have to start with some bread, though. There’s nothing better than homemade bread.

  44. Alisa

I would make my mom’s Cowboy Cookies! They have a ton of ingredients and i broke my hand mixer making them once, so now I can only make them if i have access to a kitchenaid!

  45. Tami

Oh wow,, I can’t tell you how long I have wanted one of these mixers. The very first thing I would make would be my families favorite cinnamon rolls. Batches and Batches of cinnamon rolls.

  46. jordan

the first thing i would make is your cinnamon roll pumpkin vanilla sheet cake! i’ve been drooling over it since you posted it! can’t wait to try it 🙂

  47. Hilary

I would absolutely make a big batch of buttercream frosting!! That is something I haven’t really been up to doing with my little handheld mixer!

  48. If I win, I plan on giving this to my mother…she’s wanted one of these for years, but it’s totally out of her budget. I’d hope we could make chocolate chip cookies together. Something reminiscent from my childhood with her.

  49. Mim

I would have to make my “love” cookies. That’s what my boys and husband named my chocolate chip & peanut butter chip cookies. :0)

  50. Mitra

I would make bread! My mom makes some yummy sweet bread. She finally gave me the recipe for it now that I’m away at college so I can make it myself. 🙂

  51. Annegirrl

After I wipe up the drool from looking at that beautiful mixer, I would have to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies. There is nothing like a batch of fresh-from-the-oven, homemade chocolate chip cookies in my opinion.

  52. Carrie

I will make a cake, because my husband is a cake fanatic!!! Then I will make cookies, bread, dough… I probably won’t leave it alone for a few weeks!

  53. Shelly

Cupcakes….with homemade frosting!!!!! We own a pizzeria and I make cupcakes weekly – with a hand mixer. 🙁 I would be sooooo nice to get a KitchenAid Mixer. I have dreamt of having one….over and over and over. It’s just not in the cards as an expense right now….so winning won would be super fantastic!!!!

  54. Tonya T.

I would make bread, and then cookies, then a cake, and then I’d tell my mom that her potato mashing for the family (25+) this holiday season just got a whole lot easier!

  55. Connie Taylor

The very first thing I would make is a ginormous batch of chocolate chip cookies! Or possibly something pumpkin related. Or bread. Or a giant bowl of mashed potatoes. Well, whatever I make, it will obviously be carb loaded! lol ;o)

  56. courtney

something festive like mashed sweet potato’s or christmas cookies… i also have seen a pasta making attachment you can get. Always wanted to try making my own pasta!

  57. Kim

I would make Dirt. I know, it’s not that exciting, but it won’t all fit in the KitchenAid stand mixer I have now — the stuff sloshes out everywhere even with one of those guard things. And I miss being able to make it… :o(

  58. Laura

My mother-in-law’s DIVINE rolls. The recipe is way too big for my current mixer and would work beautifully in this beast. 🙂

  59. cassie

RED would be my choice & I would make batches of holiday cookies! YUM & no more electric hand mixer would be nice.

  60. Susan Stuber

I would start with dinner rolls or home-made pretzels, then cookies, & anything else my family would like. My Kithenaid hand mixer that my Dad bought for me when I first got married….21 years ago just died. They no longer make that model so there is no hope for repair or replacement. A nice mixer like this one….would definintely make such a difference in holiday meal preparations and everyday meals. I love my Kitchenaid appliances and think they are so very worth the cost.

  61. Yvonne B

The first thing I’d make is some kind of dessert. Cookies, brownies, cake, maybe a cheesecake. After that I’d have to try some bread.

  62. Jolene Beard

I want to make some cookies! Maybe pumpkin, maybe ginger cookies. I’m sure I won’t have any trouble finding something to make with it!

  63. Sarah

Those pumpkin cinnamon roll bars that you posted a few days ago. OMG I’m making them whether I win this mixer or not but I really hope I win! Love red and it would match my kitchen perfectly 🙂

  64. So exciting!!!! I will probably make a cheesecake. It’s been awhile and I am craving a mocha cheesecake that is DELICIOUS! Thanks so much for the chance! ~j

  65. Hannah

I would make Gingersnap crumble cupcakes! I’ve been dying to try them and the season for gingerbread is approaching 🙂

  66. WOW!!!!! I would totally make 4 or 8 loaves of bread at one time! I feel like my little Kitchen Aid mixer is struggling with just 2! I wanna win I wanna win I wanna win 🙂 (thanks for the chance!)

  67. Gina

Meringue! I make a butterscotch pie (or try to make a butterscotch pie…) and it needs meringue to top it and I am terrible. No patience for that process. I NEED this mixer. So much.

  68. Brittany N

    Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Then pumpkin bread, then pumpkin cupcakes, then pumpkin muffins…. Tis the season!

  69. Lindsay

Olala! I’d make my mom’s famous caramel cake with this mixer! My family LOVES her cake but it’s a rare treat. This mixer will inspire me to get my bootay in the kitchen!

  70. Marlys Shomber-Jones

The first thing I will make is a big old batch of cinnamon rolls. I have always wanted a Kitchenaide but could never afford one. I hope I win. !!!!!!

  71. Sonnet

I have been wanting a KitchenAid mixer my whole life. I think the first thing I would make if I had one was a batch of sugar cookies. Then bread dough!

  72. Krista

I would make something that requires meringue. I hate beating those stupid egg whites with a hand maker. My arms are getting tired just thinking about it.

  73. Jeanna

Oh, I would make some good old chocolate chip cookies from scratch of course! Then I would gain 50 pounds trying out all the desert recipes I see on the blogs/pintrest!! YUM!

  74. Ellen

I’d make a classic treat like chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal raisin cookies. Then I’d make some delicious english muffin bread, something my mom and grandma always make.

  75. Casey

Beautiful! The first thing I ever made with a kitchenaid mixer was chocolate chip cookies with my mom as a little girl – might as well try that recipe out again!

  76. Lauren W

My mom’s chocolate chip cookies so that I can make plenty to share and still have enough for our household!

  77. What an awesome giveaway!! What would I make? Bread. Bread, bread, bread. I love the process of making bread and my recipe (that I often cut in half) makes two loaves. I would make three though if I had a Kitchenaid. Three because I have three pans. I would be nice to sometimes let the machine do the work especially when I’m short on blocks of time, which I’m finding is quite often with an exclusively breastfed 5-month-old.

  78. Krystal

I’d make sugar cookies and royal icing! I’ve been making these all with my hand mixer and a kitchen aid would make things sooooo much easier!

  79. I would make our family’s secret chocolate chip cookie recipe! Those cookies are to die for!!!!! I would love, love, love to win this mixer!

  80. Bread, cookies and brownies all in the same day because I wouldn’t be able to decide and would just want to make everything I could with this new wonderful addition! Fantastic giveaway! Thanks!

  81. Mary Elizabeth

I would make funfetti cake right away, because it takes me back to my childhood memories. Then I would experiment and go for something fall.

  82. Ginny

I have been dreaming of a KitchenAid mixer since our wedding day. Then we moved into a house and the need/want grew exponentially!

Considering the time of year, I would make Spiced Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies. I wish I could say these were my own creation, but they are stolen from another fabulous blog. But they are DELICIOUS and a fall/festive staple in our home. *They are also kinda healthy too if people are into that kind of thing…

  83. Janelle

First thing I’d make? Hmmmm…I’m not sure. My kitchen-aid is something I don’t use super often (I’m not a cookie person), but if I don’t need it, I sure miss it. It’s invaluable to have around. I just made some pumpkin bread yesterday, and it’s on my mind, so maybe just another batch of that.

  84. Linda Franks

The first thing I would make is a Holiday Pumpkin cheesecake! Perfect for either Thanksgiving or Christmas! Yum! Thanks for the opportunity to enter!

  85. jessica b

I would make the bun recipe that I got from my Grandma. I have always wanted a mixer, but can’t spend that much on a kitchen gadget.

  86. Brittani T.

I would make something with pumpkin or a cake or I don’t know. I would probably spend my entire day in the kitchen baking 🙂

  87. shawna farris

Pizza dough, bread, a big chocolate cake for my family because I would be so happy I finally had a Kitchen Aid!!

  88. First I’ll make a huge batch of garlic mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving and then I’ll bake some red velvet cookies. Yum!! Fabulous giveaway!

  89. zoe

i would make brownies with peanut butter first, then delicious iced pumpkin cookies, and then maybe the mini-oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies. being in law school is stressful and baking really helps with that stress so having a new kitchenaid would help relieve stress and keep my friends well fed 🙂

  90. Kelly Hie

I have nothing specfic other then alot of cakes, and cookies from recipes on Picky Palate of course…actually love your stuff.

  91. Carissa

Cinnamon rolls! My current Kitchenaid is too small and the dough always creeps up the bread hook. I need more room!

  92. Pam

Cookies although I might buy the meat grinder attachment and grind up some chicken. I LOVE chicken burgers that aren’t breaded and can’t find them where I live. I’ve ground up chicken in a processor but it was a mess.

  93. Martha in MS

I think a good homemade pound cake. I been wanting to try some different ones. It takes a good mixer to make the batter and that new mixer would certainly do the job. Its a beauty.

  94. Sonya

I would LOVE to win this. I received my first KitchenAid mixer for my high school graduation (I know! Cook much?) and that was 17 years ago!!! It’s still going strong, but I’d love to have the new bowl with a handle and all the power! I’d make some killer foccacia and pizza dough!!!

  95. Jen C.

    I’m on a caramel kick right now so chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel buttercream frosting . . . mmmmmm . . . drool . . .

  96. Laura

What would I make? Seriously this would be like the BEST DAY EVER so I would make EVERYTHING in my kitchen! But I have always wanted to make my own fondont so that would be high on the list too 😉

  97. Heather D.

The first thing I will make in a new Kitchen Aid is whole wheat bread. The second thing will be soft pretzels and the third thing will be pumpkin bread. I want to do more bulk baking so a larger Kitchen Aid with a stronger motor is ideal.

    Thanks for the contest. 🙂

  98. Amber Che'

I would make bread. I’ve been wanting to try homemade bread and having a new mixer would definitely inspire me to experiment 🙂

  99. Heather

  101. the first thing i will make with this beautiful machine is bread. it’s a work horse and can take and do so much!! i would have to make honey whole wheat bread. and then bourbon pumpkin cheesecake!!

  102. Carolinachef

I will make a big batch of my favorite oatmeal cookes…the dough freezes up well and will make great Christmas presents. I would would love a new Kitchen Aid!!

  103. Kelli Sinclair

I work at a school for juvenile delinquents and the last time I made them 7 dozen cookies it took me 4 hours, so I can’t wait to make them all sorts of cookies faster! 🙂

  104. Kari Christiansen

I’ve just started up my custom baking business and cupcakes seem to the be the popular orders of the day. Since it’s autumn season it will probably be some yummy carrot cake cupcakes or pumpkin spice cupcakes.

  105. Heather Halliday

Oh gosh, so many choices! I think I would first make something with the “fall” spirit! Probably pumpkin bread!

  106. Laura B.

Pumpkin Scones! Or Pumpkin Pies…or Choc Chip Cookies…or since my daughter just bought herself a new cupcake cookbook, maybe I’ll have her whip up one of the cool recipes in there!

  107. Jo

I’d be making chocolate chip cookies! I want to try a stuffed cookie with some of the halloween chocolate my girls will be getting.

  108. I have been sitting here trying to decide what I would make…..pumpkin dip with ginger cookies; Cinnamon Roll Pumpkin Vanilla Sheet Cake; Lemon Tea Loaf;

  109. Amy A.

I would make anything my 6 yr old son wanted to make. He’s wanted to be a chef since he was 3 and is always up for making something new!

  110. Dani Motruk

I love it! I would make chocolate zucchini brownies! I’ve been dying to make them since I found the recipe!!

  111. Katie

Zucchini bread! I make it once a year but i make about 7 loafs so this would be FANTASTIC! Not to mention it would pretty much fit in that one bowl. less mess! <3

  112. Angie

I would give it to my daughter. She just got married and has wanted one forever! So not sure what the first thing she would make but hope it would be for me:)

  113. Kristina

My older brother’s birthday is coming up, so probably his birthday cake! Chocolate with peppermint buttercream between the layers and peppermint chocolate ganache for the outside. His favorite.

  114. Pam Wolfson

Hard to choose the first thing – but for sure it will be something from Picky Palette 🙂 I’m sure it will be a cookie for my granddaughter!!!!

  115. ana

  122. That mixer looks beautiful!!!

The first thing I will make with that mixer is a huge amount of candy corn shaped sugar cookies for a pumpkin carving contest me and my friends have organized. Along with rice crispy treats colored orange and shaped into pumpkins

  123. Erin Burris

That is a hard decision to make…..but since I am pregnant and have been craving sugar cookies with icing on them I would probably have to go with that but don’t get me wrong chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies are right on top of the list as well!

  124. Shona Parker

My famous Sweet Potato Bread!!! With this baby I can crank out 5 or 6 loaves at a time and not have to clean my walls and cabinets off where half of the mix splattered because of my hand mixer! =)

  127. Rachel Jefferson

The very first thing I would make is my grandmother’s 7-up cake. It was the first cake I learned to bake as a kid and whenever I am feeling homesick and miss her (she lives in New Orleans and I am in Houston) I bake one. It’s such a simple cake, but means more to me than any fancy hi-fa-lootin’ dessert. 🙂

  128. Angie

What a fantastic giveaway! I would go on a bread making frenzy! Pumpkin, banana, zucchini….. My husband would be overjoyed!

  129. Sarah Burnett

If I won the kitchenaid, the first thing I would make would be molasses cookie. I love cookies any kind, but molasses cookies I could eat all day. Yum!

  130. Christina Karr

  134. Angie

Cheesecake Filled Pumpkin Cupcakes with a Brown Sugar Frosting. Oh, or maybe some apple cider doughnuts. Hmmm but then I have been meaning to bake some more bread… There are too many goodies I want to make and definatly not enough time to make them all. I really believe I would be happy just baking ALL day. Now, just need to find someone to clean up after me!

  135. Heather Lockmanese

Oh my, that’s beautiful! Thank you for this giveaway! First thing I’d make is a HUGE batch of your brownie chunk cookies! I love those, and it seems so much easier to distribute the chunks around in a mixer.

  137. Rachel Kurzweil

I would attempt to make donuts from scratch. Apple cider ones to by exact. I tried last weekend w/ a standard mixer=FAIL. Everyone was disappointed!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  139. Billye Johnson

  160. doreen

My new favorite Carrot/Pinapple/Banana Cake or Cupcakes – with Cream Cheese frosting. I love this recipe because you can really make it your own by adding nut, raisens soaked in rum, toasted coconut or just make it plain…It always comes out moist and delicious!!! 🙂

  161. Lara S

Having something so new & Fabulous it deserves to have something great for it’s first time in use – so I’d make something great like Cinnamon Rolls or Cinnamon Bread – yum!

  162. Melina S.

I’m going to make homemade bread. TONS of it, and freeze it all so we always have some on hand. I’ve been dreaming of a kitchenaid for the entire ten years I’ve been married and I’ve never been lucky enough to have one!! I hope the random-choosy Gods are loving me this week!!:)

  163. Nikki Glidewell
