Nutrilite Giveaway

Back in August I had the opportunity to visit the Nutrilite Center for Optimal Health in Buena Park, California for a health and nutrition event hosted by Amway.

I was also there with Amanda from Kevin and Amanda,  Emily from Busy Mommy, and Lori from 24/7 Moms for a comprehensive health assessment to determine the best health management program for our genetic type. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous because the first thing we had to do  get our blood drawn. I’m sure I turned white as a ghost, but I am happy to say that I did just fine 🙂

After we got our blood drawn, we proceeded with our blood pressure taken, and an ultrasound done on our carotid artery to monitor plaque build up. Then we moved on to a bone density test, flexibility test, physical fitness tests to determine cardio and core strength, and a body fat percentage test. For the record I have never liked the body fat test, especially since I have been a food blogger, lol! Finally we took a DNA swab that will tell us how to manage our best health and weight management.

We all did great then it was off for a quaint lunch with Kurt Warner who is the new Spokesperson for Nutrilite.

Kurt is a huge fan of the Nutrilite products and told us about his experience, and you know there was Dancing With The Stars Talk 🙂  It was fun to get to talk with him and learn about his busy family. His wife has a book coming out called One Call Away. I am looking forward to reading about her story.

I received my health analysis back from the Dr. and to no surprise to maintain my optimal health and weight, I need to reduce my carbs and exercise with higher intensity. Not so much of a surprise but I was grateful to get all the details to help me understand my genetic make up.

  1. To get varicose problematic veins, try horses chestnut, an herbal extract that’s been shown inside studies to boost veins and lower swelling.

My whole family takes vitamins. My Grandma was a nurse and one of those ladies that would give you vitamins and herbs for everything. So I guess I learned a little here and there. 😛

My family takes multi-vitamins everyday.. and other suppliments as well .. eating the right foods gives us more nutrients too .. always trying to eat right .. there is also the times you just have to be luxurious to yourself and make these scrumptious desserts here on picky palate for a treat !!

My daughter and I both take vitamins and I am also a huge juicer. My husband will take them only if I put them out for hi!

  5. delia

If you eat a healthy variety of fruits and vegetables, you really don’t need a pill to give you vitamins. Honestly, this whole Nutrilite thing seems a little shady to me. The “customized” advice you got is applicable to anyone. I hope you enjoyed the lunch and meeting Kurt.

  6. I currently take a Women’s One a Day Vitamin with added calcium, iron and zinc. I was taking an additional calcium tablet, but after careful research on calcium needs, realized I was taking way too much and eliminated that extra dose.

  7. Eryn

Currently, I take Flintstones Complete chewables and I am 20 years old. They taste so good and I don’t even care that they are meant for 4-year-olds!

  8. Jen M

DH and I do. Toddler does not. I am really conscious of taking mine because I notice a huge difference in my energy levels and overall mood when I don’t. Great giveaway! Thanks!

  9. About 6 months ago I bought a big bottle of multi vitamins one for me and one for my husband. I think we have taken about 20 in the past 6 months, I am trying so hard to be better!

  10. We take multivitamins, fish oil, and flax seed oil daily. We didn’t start taking flax seed until I developed dry eyes due to birth control which was completely fixed by flax seed oil.

  11. Natalie R

No. I’m so bad with going on spurts where I’m good with taking vitamins then I’m bad. Currently, no, we’re not taking daily vitamins.

  12. Tracy

    I follow on Twitter!
I wish I could go and get all of these tests done on me!!! Do they do this for “regular” people??

  13. Ashley Vantrease

I take a womens daily vitamin, but I am the only one in my family who does. I will be looking into these products! THANKS!

  14. Amy W

I do not give my kids vitamins all the time. We kind of go in phases when we do better eating our fruits and veggies but I know we definitely need to do better.

  15. I just had a baby so I have been taking a prenatal everyday but I never even thought that I should start my 2 year old on vitamins. Heading to the store for some gummy vitamins…

  16. Ashlie Crawford

I follow you on facebook (and fyi, on your welcome page it says “the” twice when I think one of the words should be “to”).

  17. Ashlie Crawford

I don’t really have a family yet (unless you count the four legged kind, which I do :), but I take my multi-vites everyday!

  18. Amy G.

My hubs is great at taking his daily vitamins and supplements… I however need a little nudge in a different direction…:) the direction of actually taking them 🙂

  19. Kari

We’re pretty bad. I’m only good at getting my daughter to take Vitamin D and most of the time I try and remember to take fish oil. Wish I was better at it.

  20. Sarah

My mother and I both take daily vitamins! I’m in college, and I sometimes I don’t feel like I’m getting proper nutrition 😛

  21. sheri grennille

we do take vitamins, my husband most of all. he would like this giveaway – and he is a huge kurt warner / st. louis rams fan).

  22. Bobbie Grider

My husband takes them everyday. My son and I are off an on. We will be really good about it for like 3 months and then trail off. Then pick it back up again. 🙁 I know we need to be more consistent with it.

My son LOVES the gummi ones and I have to have iron free ones so sometimes I take his kiddo ones too.

  23. YES. My husband is really good at it and has got me and kept me in the habit since we’ve been married. I have great evidence that it has helped me get sick a ton less than when I wasn’t taking them. We’ve got the gummy vites for our one-year-old and they’re his bedtime treat!

  24. Kristin Gandolfo

My kids take daily multi vitamins. Currently my husband and I dont…I just dont know what ones to take! There are so many and its sooooo confusing 🙂

  25. My husband and I both take vitamins, but off and on. He’s better about it than I am. I hate pills, which I already have to take anyway for a medication that I’m on, so the last thing I want to do is follow them with a horsepill. To make up for it, I keep a mostly vegan diet, sometimes raw depending in the season, and I eat mostly gluten-free, which pushes me to eat more nutrient-dense food. I also have a green smoothie everyday. When we saw juicers on sale at Macys this past Labor Day, my husband and I jumped on buying one, and it’s been one of our best purchases. We use it at least once a day, and juicing has even become a special bonding time where we go through our fridge and figure out what fun drinks we can make out of the produce we have. I take my Omegas and a B12 supplement, sometimes iron, depending on how I’m feeling, but I would like to get better at taking daily vitamins. Even though I keep a nutritious diet, having a multivitamin in you is a nice backup in case your food (or juice) intake is lagging that day.

  26. YES – everyone in our house takes multi-vitamins – JuicePlus gummies + omega 3 DHA for the kids and a multi (plus several supplements) for the hubbie & I

  27. I always have the best intentions and try to remember to take my vitamin, but sometimes I forget…whoops. But I do always remember to take my calcium supplement

  28. Judy

My family is pretty consistent in the vitamin arena – we used to take the Nutrilite vitamins – back in the day. Would love to try them again. Thanks for the chance to win.

  29. Lisa

The kids take gummi vitamins and I do occasionally, but these sounds great, and are probably way better for you. Would love to try – we definitely need to get healthier!

  30. Mishelle

    I follow you on Facebook.

ps – not sucking up but I drew my sister along with me as a follower as I kept printing and trying your recipes.

  31. Mishelle

I don’t follow on RSS as they come in 2 days after each are put out and the delay drives me insane. I’m trying to find a better RSS reader but have crapped out on 3 so far – Brief was good for about 6 months then the time lag come on.

  32. Mishelle

I take a vitamin and so do my kids – my kids take the Flintstones Gummies vitamins BUT they don’t know who the Flintstones are which troubles me, makes me feel very old!! SNORT!!

  33. Emily

Me & my daughter take daily multivitamins, but I can’t seem to get my husband to make it a part of his daily routine.

  34. Suzanne

I take a pre-natal vitamin as my daily right now–my baby is 13 months old, but I still have some left, so for now that’s good. But I’d love to be able to find a really good quality daily vitamin for when my prenatals run out! =)

  35. Sara Grimshaw

My three kids take gummy vitamins daily. I try and take a multi vitamin…when I can remember! I’m desperate to find something that will give me energy, I feel like I’m always exhausted. Thanks for the chance.

  36. Darla

My family has never been consistent vitamin consumers. Mainly because we’ve never found a vitamin system that seemed to make much difference in the way we felt or our level of energy (which seems to be the biggest issue :)). Maybe Nutrilite is the answer.

  37. Jen R

I try to be good about taking a multivitamin and my son takes one every day per his doctor…now just remembering to take them for myself!

  38. Crystal

Our daughter takes a children’s multi-vitamin daily, my fiance and I need to work on that a bit more for ourselves 🙂

  39. misiaberry

Even though I stress to my husband to take vitamins and when he does he feels great, we both fall off the wagon. I’m proud to say that know that we are talking about having little kiddies I’ve been kicking my butt to stay on top of my nutrition. Yay babies! Cross your fingers and wish me luck in the next couple of months. xoxox

  40. Patty Jones-Arnold

My husband and I take vitamins every day. We feel they are important to our overall health even though we eat right and exercise every day. Patty

  41. Katie Wenaas

I do take a multivitamin plus probiotics. I don’t always eat enough fruits & vegetables so I need to supplement my vitamins & minerals.

  42. Jenny H.

We take vitamins everyday. We love Amway’s line of vitamins:) But being a family of six, sometimes money is an issue.

  43. Brooke

Yes! I have two small children, so vitamins are a daily must. My husband and I also take vitamins…we love following you on google!

  44. My mom always has, but it took getting diagnosed with Crohn’s and the doctor agreeing with her that I should be taking some before I ever started making an effort to remember them.

  45. Courtney Ellabarger

Yes…I take a women’s multivitamin daily, and my dog takes one too (not a women’s one, though, of course!) 🙂

  46. Sarah

No, we’re not taking daily vitamins. I was taking my Pre-Natal vitamin until I stopped breastfeeding, but that was 5 months ago, and I just haven’t started something new!

  47. Leeanna

I started taking vitamins quite awhile ago and now take a multi, fish oil, and probiotic everyday! It’s been great for my hair and skin as well as my digestion!! Would love to try the Nutrilite products!

  48. I take a multivitamin but my doctor wants me to start on a “powder” vitamin that is supposed to absorb really well. Already subscribed to the RSS feed also!

  49. my husband and i both take vitamins! funny thing is he loves the chewy ones- guess it reminds him of gummy bears! since i was on prenatals, i sort’ve just kept up with taking a multi-vitamin every night! my son is almost 8mo and is no longer breastfeeding so he doesn’t require any vitamin supplements since the ped said he gets everything he needs through food/formula! i’m sure once he gets older, he’ll follow with our nightly vitamin routine!

  50. Rebecca H.

Only my youngest daughter takes regular vitamins. My husband and I used to earlier this year, and kind of got out of the habit.
