What You’ll Need For Cake Mix Cookie Bars

  • strawberry cake mix– I generally use Pillsbury
  • butter– I use salted butter for most of my recipes, but unsalted butter is just fine too.
  • egg– For your reference, I always use large eggs when baking.
  • mini marshmallows– any brand of mini marshmallows are just fine.
  • chocolate chips– semi sweet or milk chocolate.
  • Oreo Cookies– You can use regular or double stuf
  • prepared frosting– The pink Pillsbury prepared frosting is what I used here, but any is fine. You can even add a drop or two of red food coloring to white frosting if pink is not available.

Tips For Making Cake Mix Cookie Bars

  1. Make sure you use parchment paper to line your 9×13-inch baking dish, makes it so much easier to remove bars and cut into squares
  2. Let bars cool completely before cutting into squares
  3. Use a plastic knife to cut your bars. It’s the best kept secret. The plastic doesn’t stick. Try it!
  4. Don’t sprinkle tops of bars with Oreo crumbs until right before serving to keep cookies crisp.

How To Serve Gooey Cake Mix Cookie Bars
