What You’ll Need For Air Fryer Cookies
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make cookies in the air fryer. See the recipe card located at the bottom of my post for full instructions and details.
- Butter– I use salted butter for my recipes. Unsalted is fine too.
- Brown Sugar– Use dark brown sugar for an extra richness. Light brown sugar works if needed.
- Granulated Sugar– This fine white sugar gives the cookies their sweetness.
- Egg– For consistency I use large eggs for my cooking and baking.
- Vanilla– Use pure vanilla extract for best results.
- All-Purpose Flour– Flour is the main dry ingredients in the cookies.
- Salt– I use kosher salt for my cooking and baking.
- Baking Soda– Baking soda helps the cookies rise during baking.
- Chocolate Chips/Chunks– I like to cut my own chocolate into chunks. I use the Trader Joe’s block of milk chocolate.

Add Chocolate Chunks. Pour in the chocolate chunks and/or chocolate chips. Stir until combined.
Can You Bake Cookies In An Air Fryer?
Place Cookie Dough Into Air Fryer. With a small 1 tablespoon size cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough into a parchment lined air fryer basket. Note. I cut a square of parchment paper to fit my air fryer. They sell liners on Amazon if you’re interested too.
Bake Cookies. Bake cookies in air fryer at 300 degrees F. for 5-6 minutes, until slightly golden on top. Remove from air fryer and let cookies sit in hot air fryer basket for another 5 minutes to set.
Recipe Tips For Success
- Soften the butter ahead of time so it’s ready to use.
- Each air fryer will have a slightly different cook time. Use my instructions as a guideline and test your air fryer to see how it bakes. Adjust baking time as needed.
- I made small cookies in the air fryer. Keep in mind that if you are making larger cookies, add a minute or two more bake time.
- Play around with mix-ins! Use crushed Oreos, different flavored chocolate chips and even chopped candy bars.
Can I Bake The Cookies In The Oven Instead?
- Yes you can. Instead of scooping the cookie dough into the air fryer, scoop the dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake them at 350 degrees F. for 11-12 mintues. I would also recommend using a larger cookie scoop.

What size air fryer do you have? Can you fit all of these cookies in it or do you have to do multiple batches. I think my air fryer wouldn’t fit many.
Hi Maria, I used a small 1 tablespoon size cookie scoop and fit 9 cookies in my air fryer. It’s just a basic size air fryer.
