How To Make Peanut Butter Pie
Start the cookie crust by creaming your butter and sugars.
Add your egg and vanilla next.
Time for your dry ingredients.
Time for some M&M’s! I used the classic Milk chocolate ones for my cookie crust.
Gently stir them into your dough.
Place your dough into a lightly greased pie plate.
Press dough evenly up sides and bottom like so. Bake for about 35-40 minutes until baked through. Let cool completely.
To prepare pie filling combine softened cream cheese, peanut butter, sugar and buttermilk until well combined.
Pour filling into cooled cookie crust.
Spread evenly.
Line edges of filling with M&M’s and top center with chocolate curls.
Tips For Making Peanut Butter Pie
- Use a good quality pie pan. I love the Emile Henry brand from stores like Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma.
- Pre-make your cookie dough to save time the day you make your pie.
- Substitute the cookie dough layer for an Oreo Crust. Click the link for recipe.
- Substitute M and M candies for your favorite chopped up candy bars such as Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers and even Butterfinger.
- To make pretty chocolate curls, make sure your chocolate is at room temperature. The curls come out so much nicer when chocolate is not cold.
- Store leftover pie in an airtight container in refrigerator.

I have never added vanilla pudding mix to a cookie recipe, I am curious as to what it does?
This recipe looks great ! Can’t wait to make it !!
why at the end of the recipe for M and M’s cookie crusted peanut butter pie… does it say “ADD SUGAR AND CREAM AND WHIP UNTIL PEAKS.. THERE IS NO PART IN THAT RECIPE FOR THAT.. PLEASE EXPLAIN AND SEND ME AN ANWER I JUST FINISHED MAKING THESE AND THEN GOT TO THAT STEP WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECIPE.. THANK YOU..
What size baking dish did you use. I used a 9″ pie plate and the cookie baked up even with the top of the pie plate.
Where did you buy the chocolate curls?
on the recipe for the M&M Peanut Butter pie, after you fill the crust with the Peanut Butter Cream Cheese filling, then it says to add cream and sugar in blender until stiff peaks form. But, their is nothing on the recipe about cream and sugar??? Just wondering
That not only looks delicious but it looks like such a pretty dessert to show off to your guests before cutting it. Will have to try this, as I can definitely get M&Ms here in Bangkok (which is not true of many American candies). Thanks 🙂
Oh my gosh, just that cookie crust alone. But then the filling, and then the topping! E-P-I-C.
What a fun pie! I have to make this!

This pie is basically ALL THE THINGS. I want to eat it all..probably for breakfast, because I can’t wait until a more acceptable time to shove it into my face! Pinned!
Those curls!! That crust!! I’ll take it all, please 🙂
Such an awesome pie! I love those chocolate curls on top 🙂
What a fun pie!
Great looking pie. I have a question about the filling. The step by step says To prepare pie filling combine softened cream cheese, peanut butter, and buttermilk until well combined.” I didn’t see buttermilk mentioned elsewhere. Is that an error?
Just edited that. Yes there should be buttermilk 🙂
Epic cookie pie recipe!
This looks not only delish but also so party-ish and fun! I did notice that in step three, you give directions to make and then to spread sweetened whipped cream over the pie; however, neither your ingredient list nor your photos reflect that. Just fyi. 🙂
Last minute I decided no whipped cream 🙂 It’s edited correctly now.
