Steak Sandwich
This Disneyland hack recipe combines the Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Roll from Maurice’s Treats in Fantasyland and a skewer of your choice from Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland. I chose the beef skewer and it makes the most delicious steak sandwich that turns out to be super easy to make at home.

Here’s What You’ll Need
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make your own delicious steak sandwich inspired from Disneyland! I found all of these items at Fry’s Marketplace here in AZ, which is a Kroeger store. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the post for full instructions.
- Soft Pretzel Buns– Check the bakery section of your grocery store for nice soft pretzel buns. These are from Kroeger. Check Sprouts and Costco too.
- Garlic Spread– I found this spread near the bakery section by the breads. It’s not refrigerated. It’s so good inside the rolls.
- Steak Kabobs– I found some bacon wrapped steak kabobs in the meat department to use for my sandwiches, you can use chicken pork, really whatever you’d like. If you can’t find kabobs, just use diced steak also sold in the meat department.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese– Shredded cheese is added to the inside of the pretzel rolls and baked for the most delicious rolls.
How To Make A Steak Sandwich
Preheat Oven To 350 Degrees F.
Prepare The Pretzel Rolls. Open up 4 pretzel rolls and spread garlic spread generously on both sides. Add mozzarella cheese then wrap loosely in tin foil. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Cook The Steak. Place your steak kabobs into a hot skillet or grill over medium heat. Cook all sides until it’s cooked to your liking. Once the sides are browned, I cover the skillet with a lid for a few minutes to cook the inside.
Cube The Steak. Once steak is cooked and has rested for a few minutes, remove the skewer and cut steak into cubes.
Place Steak Inside Hot Rolls. Carefully open up hot rolls from tin foil and spoon steak inside each roll. Serve warm.
Recipe Questions and Tips
Can I Use Other Meats?
Yes, You can use chicken breast, rotisserie chicken works great, pork, cooked shrimp, vegetables….really anything that you like will be delicious inside the cheesy garlic rolls.
What If I Can’t Find These Ingredients?
If you can’t find these exact ingredients, look for other soft rolls you might like. The garlic spread should be readily available. If you don’t see this exact garlic spread at your grocery store, check the refrigerated section for garlic butters.
What Else Can I Add To The Sandwich?
Some sauteed vegetables would be a great addition to the steak sandwiches. You can saute some onions, bell peppers and even jalapeno. Try adding shredded lettuce and tomato slices too.
How To Serve Steak Sandwiches
Serve these steak sandwiches warm at your next party or family dinner. They’re great as the main dish or cut into halves as appetizers.
Leftovers
Store any steak leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat steak in a hot skillet over medium heat with a little olive oil until hot, just a couple minutes should do it. Serve the steak inside the hot rolls if you’d like or enjoy the steak leftovers in burritos, tacos, eggs and more.
