What exciting news to find Ragú® Old World Style® Traditional Pasta Sauce now has two servings of veggies in every half cup.
We are massive pasta eaters in the Picky Palate house, so I was thrilled to try Ragu’s new pasta sauce with all the extra veggies packed in.

I found that the new formulation doesn’t actually have any different ingredients than the old formula. They’ve just packed more veggies into the formula to get to 2 servings of veggies per half cup (vs. 1 serving per half cup). The taste is the same great taste and they want to assure moms that the sauce they’re used to and have been feeding their families for years hasn’t changed.

We tried the Skillet Pasta and Beef Dinner with our new veggie packed Ragu and the kids went nuts for it. Before I added the sauce, I made sure I tried a spoon of each (the old and the new) and I enjoyed the chunkiness of the new sauce because I knew it was packed with lots of vegetables!

The dinner was a huge success and it literally took minutes to prepare. I love pulling out quick and simple recipes during the busy school week and that is exactly what Ragu helps us with. A great pasta sauce packed with lots of vegetables. Mom is happy and the kids are happy!

Come be one of the first to taste Ragu with 2 servings of veggies in every half cup over at Ragu’s Facebook Page .

I love spaghetti and meatballs, its tastes good, is fast and I always have all the stuff for it.

  2. spaghetti squash with red sauce….couldn’t be easier. just bake the squash, scrape out the insides and you have low carb “pasta” and get your veggies in too!

  3. Good ol’ spaghetti and meatballs. My twist is that I make a huge batch of spaghetti sauce and another extra large batch of meatballs every few months. That way, when I need that quick meal, all I have to do is cook the pasta and heat up the rest!

  4. Lindsay

I make a pasta with a soup I get in the deli section of my local Vons for the sauce (it’s their Tuscan Tomato and Basil Bisque soup…yum!). SUPER easy, just pour a generous amount of the soup over cooked pasta and top with LOTS of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Delish!

  5. Janell

Of course good ol’ spaghetti is always a favorite but we also like a pasta dish I ate growing up–Chilironi. Yumm!

  6. I love to make the kids spaghetti and meatballs on a school night, but we also love to make macaroni with corn, spaghetti sauce and ground beef all mixed in together. I think pasta is a big hit anytime.

My daughter is crazy about gnocchi. Takes 5 minutes to cook and she just likes butter and parm on it. Can’t really get easier than that!

    more veggies per serving? Awesome!!

One of our quick and easy recipes (even uses a jar of Ragu!) is to prepare a bag of frozen ravioli then combine it with a jar of sauce in a 9×13 pan. Top with mozzarella and parmesan and bake. Tastes great with a salad.

  11. I usually toss some pasta with olive oil, salt & pepper, and parmesan cheese. That’s my go-to pasta, especially when I’m sick and need something simple.

  12. suzanne

My stand by mid week pasta recipe is baked penne- jarred sauce, ground beef, pepperoni, green peppers, onion. Mix together top with mozarella and bake. Its a crowd pleaser in my house.

I love to make easy chicken scampi- fresh basil, olive oil, garlic, chicken, and a little bit of butter all sauteed together then poured over whole wheat pasta. Yum!

  16. Cheryl Newton

My super-quick weeknight pasta dinner is spaghetti and meatballs, slow-cooker style. Sometime earlier in the day, I just dump frozen meatballs (homemade or store-bought) and a jar of pasta sauce in the slow cooker. Then at dinner time, I only need a few minutes to boil some pasta, make a salad and maybe throw together a salad. Voila! Dinner is served!

  17. Kara

My favorite weeknight pasta meal is simply spaghetti with tomato sauce and cooked ground beef/turkey with some fresh veggies thrown in! Simple and delicious. 🙂

  18. Steph

I don’t love red sauce, so if I’m in a hurry I use pesto (that I have previously made and frozen. . .) on angel hair pasta (because it cooks fastest) 🙂

I like to make a pasta primavera of sorts where I saute whatever fresh veggies I have on hand (squash, zucchini, peppers, onions, etc) and then add in some marinara and serve it over pasta. Easy and nutritious – a great combo!

  44. Any combination of pasta is delicious. It is one of my favorite go to meals – quick, easy, and super tasty. My favorite during the busy work week would have to be any type of stuffed pasta (packaged tortellini and/or ravioli) and red sauce.

  45. Margaret

Lasagna isn’t an easy meal to make, but it’s delicious, and there are always leftovers during the week!

  46. Jey

My favorite quick pasta meal is probably my version of pasta fresca from Noodles & Co.

Combine pasta, large jar of spaghetti sauce, 8 oz. cottage cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella and 1/4 cup grated parmesan. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish and top with several slices of mozzarella. Bake at 350-400 for about 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

  79. Milissa

It is more of a snack than a meal…but it is pretty good that you might want to eat if for a whole meal! I spoon some pasta sauce onto a sliced bagel and top it with some veggies. Kinda like a “bagel bite” minus the cheese.

Crazy, busy is an understatement! I’ve discovered that I can’t be in two places at the same time! We seldom get to eat together, but the kids are pretty good about eating whatever is prepared. I’m glad pasta cooks quickly and the ease of pouring a jar of delicious Ragu’ over anything is appreciated. My daughters and I love salad and all of us like good, warm french bread to go along with our dinner.

  91. Iris

A simple pasta dish that I love is combining any type of cooked pasta and some spaghetti sauce. You throw it all in a shallow baking dish, top with cheese and bake for about 30-40 minutes. The results are divine and you can always add ingredients as you palate desires.

  92. Marcia Goss

I like to cook ziti or rigatoni, cover it with sauce, top it with mozzarella cheese, and then put it in the oven until the cheese melts. We love this with bread and a salad.

  96. rebecca

I pre cook and freeze both ground meat and chicken. When needed I can pull out either and add two jars of Ragu sauce, and put water on to boil. Start and finish my salad and pasta is ready to be thrown in, when it is ready dinner is completed. All but the eating, and everyone leaves the table a happy camper.

I don’t have a recipe, but I throw together 1/2 box of cooked whole wheat pasta, a jar of pasta sauce, a pound of cooked ground beef/chicken (I grind my own chicken – after I tried it once, it makes me nauseous to think about what might actually be in the stuff they sell in the stores!), and then whatever frozen veggies we have laying around – corn, green beans, or shredded zucchini from the garden. Everybody eats it, and it’s quick, easy, and healthy
