What You’ll Need
- butter– For most of my recipes I use salted butter. Unsalted works too.
- granulated sugar– This fine white sugar adds sweetness to the cookie bars.
- light brown sugar– Light brown sugar also adds sweetness and richness to the bars.
- creamy peanut butter– Use your favorite brand of creamy peanut butter.
- large egg– For consistency, I use large eggs in my cooking and baking.
- pure vanilla extract– Use pure vanilla extract for best tasting results.
- all-purpose flour– Flour is the main dry ingredient in the cookies.
- baking soda– Baking soda helps the cookies rise during baking.
- kosher salt– Kosher salt is a course salt commonly used in cooking and baking. I prefer it over table salt.
- chocolate chips- Milk or semi sweet is generally what I use. White chips and butterscotch would be good substitutions too.
- mini oreos– Mini Oreos are usually sold in a bag in the cookie isle. You can crush your own regular size Oreo cookies if needed too.

This cookie dough is incredible!
Time to bake. I line an 8×8 inch baking dish with foil that’s been sprayed with cooking spray. This makes removing and cutting into squares much easier.

OMG! Divine! Despite reducing all the sugary stuff by half (white and brown sugars, chocolate chips and oreos) this was still decadent and delicious. Will definitely make again!

I am super obsessed with Oreos, so this sounds and looks amazing! I wish the Oreo/peanut butter combination was more common because it’s soo good. I’ve loved it ever since I saw it on The Parent Trap when I was little and decided to try it. 🙂
