How To Brown Butter

These cookies have brown butter in the recipe.  See my post on How To Brown Butter for full details.  It’s simple to do and it brings such an amazing flavor to your cookies.

Once your brown butter has cooled slightly add the softened cream cheese and brown butter to a large mixing bowl or stand mixer.  Beat well, until smooth and creamy.

Dry ingredients up next!  If you’ve never had “malted” cookies don’t be afraid of it.  It’s very mild.  Another big flavor booster.  I use the Carnation brand you can find at most grocery stores.  For this chocolate version, you can use the chocolate malt by Carnation as well.

An excellent recipe, I keep my culinary blog, enjoy writing scientific articles and also love to draw!
I want to share with you a recipe for delicious cookies so that you can please your loved ones for the holidays.
Ishler thaler cookies are traditional Austrian pastries, created in the 50s by confectioner Richard Kurt. Very aromatic and spicy. No wonder the confectioner was awarded a gold medal for this cookie at the World Exhibition in Brussels.
Mix all the dry ingredients (pre-fry the nuts in the oven and grind into flour, brown sugar into powder, remove the zest from the lemon). Mix the dry ingredients with softened butter, knead the dough, divide it into 2 parts, wrap each in plastic wrap or in a bag and cool for an hour. Take out one part of the dough, roll it out into a thin layer immediately on the baking sheet covered with baking paper. Using flower forms, cut out cookies with a diameter of 4 cm, remove excess dough. Bake in the oven preheated to 160 ° C for 10 minutes, no more. Get a cookie, at first, it will be very soft, and after cooling, it will harden, but it should not be dry. Cook the cooled cookies in pairs using jam (preferably, boil the jam for a couple of minutes before cooling). Melt the chocolate in a water bath, put it in an envelope, cut off a thin tip and pour chocolate over the cookies. Enjoy your meal!
