What You’ll Need
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make double chocolate cookies at home. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the post for full details.
- Salted Butter– I use salted butter for most of my cooking and baking. Unsalted butter works great too.
- Brown Sugar, Light or Dark– You’ll notice light and brown sugar when shopping.
- Granulated Sugar– Granulated sugar is a fine sugar commonly used in baking.
- Large Eggs– For consistency I use large eggs.
- Pure Vanilla Extract– For best tasting results be sure to use pure vanilla.
- All-Purpose Flour– All-purpose flour is the main dry ingredient in the brownies.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, I prefer Hershey’s Special Dark-Find unsweetened cocoa powder in the baking isle of the grocery store.
- Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix– Find instant chocolate pudding in the baking isle. Make sure you look for instant.
- Kosher Salt– Kosher salt is a coarse salt. I prefer using it in my baking and cooking.
- Baking Soda– Baking soda helps the brownies rise.
- Mini Chocolate Chips– Find the chocolate chips in the baking section of the grocery store.
- Mini M&M’s– Find Mini M&M’s in the candy section.

Do some M&Ms get mixed in and fall to the bottom? Cause in the picture it looks like they’re all perfectly on top…Also have you ever tried this using a boxed brownie mix as a starting point? Don’t mean to insult you lol, just always curious if there’s an easier way sometimes! 😉
I can’t wait to try this out, looks so deliciously sinful! However, I’d like to get your confirmation on the butter though. As our butters are sold/labeled in grams instead of sticks or cups, therefore can you confirm one stick of butter is equal to how many grams? Thanks!
I just googled it and it says 113 grams is equal to one stick of butter 🙂 Hope you enjoy!
Thanks! 🙂
Crisp, and gummy from the chocolate chips. Fabulous cookie bar! My friends were very excited and it! Thanks for the recipe!
My family admit this is the best batch of brownies I have ever made, or tasted. Absolutely yummy! It’s a special treat, just fabulous!
M&M’s are my real love, and you can never have too many chocolate recipes! These bars look amazing!
What if you only have unsalted butter? Do you have a measurement for how much salt to add? Thanks!! ☺️
unsalted butter is just fine. No need to adjust the salt in the recipe. I’ve used both salted and unsalted with no adjustments 🙂
Too good for my throat
Can I use regular m*m and regular chocolate chips?
Yes that works fine too.
