Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make totchos at home. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the post for full details.
- Tater Tots- Find tater tots in the frozen food section near the French Fries.
- Cooked Beef– I used a cooked shredded beef, but you can use any beef and even chicken you’d like.
- Chopped Green Chilies– Chopped green chilies add a nice chili flavor to the totchos.
- Shredded Cheese– We use mild cheddar cheese to top the totchos.
How To Make Taco Totchos
Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dishes. Preheat oven to 415 degrees F. Place tater tots onto a baking sheet or two small bakers like I have photographed in this post.
Add Taco Seasoning and Bake Partially. Sprinkle with taco seasoning and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
Top With Beef, Chilies and Cheese. Top tater tots with shredded beef, green chilies and cheese. For the shredded beef, I used a roast from the night before, feel free to use ground beef, chicken or whatever protein you’d like.
Bake Again To Melt Cheese. Bake for another 10-12 minutes, until hot and cheese is melted. Remove and top with chopped fresh cilantro. Serve warm.
