What You’ll Need To Make Giant Cookie
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make a giant cookie at home. See the recipe card located at the bottom of the post for full details.
- Butter– For most of my recipes I use salted butter. Unsalted works too.
- Granulated Sugar– This fine white sugar adds sweetness to the cookie.
- Light Brown Sugar– This cookie recipe can use light or dark brown sugar.
- Large Egg– For consistency, I use large eggs in my cooking and baking.
- Pure Vanilla Extract– For best tasting results use pure vanilla extract.
- All-Purpose Flour– Flour is the main dry ingredient in the cookies.
- Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix- Find the pudding mixes in the baking isle. Make sure the box says instant and not cook and serve.
- Baking Soda– Baking soda helps the cookies rise during baking.
- Kosher Salt– Kosher salt is a course salt commonly used in cooking and baking. I prefer it over table salt.
- Mini Chocolate Chips– Mini or regular sized chocolate chips work just fine here.
How To Make A Giant Chocolate Cookie
Preheat Oven and Preheat Baking Sheet. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a large baking sheet with a silpat liner or parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugars. Place butter and sugars into a medium bowl and stir until well combined.
Egg and Vanilla. Add beaten egg and vanilla stirring until well combined.
Dry Ingredients. Add flour, pudding mix, baking soda, salt and chocolate chips.
Stir Until Dough Forms. Stir ingredients until just combined.
Transfer Dough To Baking Sheet. Using a large cookie or ice cream scoop, place dough onto center of baking sheet.
Bake. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden around edges. Let cool for 15 minutes on baking sheet before removing. Serve room temperature or warm.
Recipe Tips For Success
- Beat Egg Before Measuring. Crack egg into a small mixing bowl and beat until well combined. Pour into measuring spoon.
- Shape Cookie While Hot. When cookie comes out of the oven, use a plastic knife to shape edges if needed. I do this with all of my cookies and shape them as needed.
How To Serve
Serve cookie warm or room temperature. Top with ice cream if desired.
How To Store Leftover Cookies
Store any leftover cookies in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Freezing Instructions
To freeze giant cookie or cookie dough, place into an airtight container or freezer safe bag and freeze up to 3 months. Thaw before enjoying again.

I wanna put vanilla ice cream on top of this with hot fudge!
When I saw this in my email yesterday, I knew,I was going to make that cookie when I got home from work. I added pecans and the mini carmel chips, along with the chocolate chips. The cookie tasted as good as it looks. I will ALWAYS make this cookie… for me.😁
Looks delicious! I like the addition of vanilla pudding mix, I think it adds a little something extra. I do want to caution you, however, against recommending that people eat the whole cookie in one sitting as it amounts to 1,039 calories. That’s half the average adult’s daily allowance
wow ,i can make this without the pudding mix?
and what the replace for pudding mix
Any way to make this without the pudding mix?
What is 3 tablespoons of egg mean?
It means you take one beaten egg and measure 3 tablespoons out of that egg.
This looks amazing!!!
I need this in my life immediately!
these cookies are delicious, can’t make just one!!
I love this recipe! I am always wanting to make cookies, but I don’t want to eat a whole batch. This is the perfect solution!
I’ve made this about 5 times now, with different types of chocolate chips. We love it!
Thus looked really good but when I made it I followed directions exactly and it turned out horrible more like cake batter than cookie dough
this looks amazing. I am wondering about the pudding mix as well. It’s not something I ever buy. Is there a sub?
Thanks!
I will try to do it.
I have never tried cooking , These cookies looks awesome!
This looks delicious! Is the pudding mix absolutely necessary or can it be replaced with something else? It’s not something I ever have on hand.
This is my kind of recipe! Love this cookie!!!
This cookie looks like the best idea. But I don’t think I’ll share (since I don’t have to). : ) Definitely trying this next time I have a night to myself!
